I loaded the license and authentication files with sucess. Installed and configured the IPSI board statically. However I was not able to save my translations. In additon, when I try to add a cabinet I receive the message: can't add no license file. can't communicate with the IPSI or the media gateway. Please help!!!!

If you are setting up a new switch, you need to do a "save trans" first, then a "reset system 4".

After the switch comes back, do a "change help" and see if all your options are now listed.

now you will be able to "add cabinet 1", "add ips 1" etc.

what system have you installed?

follow what Mitch has says and do a list con license or do a statuslicense from the shell and see if the license is seen

have you configured the IPSI using the services port on the front of the circuit pack
more info would be required to assist

Thank you Mitch for your help. However, when I do a save trans I receive the following error cannot find standby server? any ideas? Please help.

Thanks,

That's a different problem, you either don't have your duplication interface setup properly, you don't have your ethernet DUP crossover cable plugged in, or if hardware DUP, you need both the ethernet DUP crossover cable AND the fiber cable plugged in. You do have the 2nd S87XX setup, right?

All that error is telling you is, its not saving the translation on the DUPlicated server.. an entirely different problem. However, you should now be able to "add cabinet 1", "add ips 1", etc, and get your port network connected and working.

FYI, you should probably get the AVAYA installation PDFs and read them.
