This should be a no brainer but I can't seem to get it to work. I'm trying to add a remote bell ringer to an extension on our Merlin system. I assumed that I just added the bell extension number (which is connected to a port on an 016 card and works fine when dialed directly) as a primary coverage button on the sending extension, which has an MLX phone on it. But this doesn't work. I've actually been unable to get a primary cover button on this phone to ring any other extension, MLX or otherwise.

I've also tried to do it with group coverage but that also fails. Any ideas? I'm sure I have some setting wrong but the compexities of group cover/calling/senders/recivers always gets me. I've managed it before but can't replicate it now. I think I am missing some very simple solution.

You did it in reverse - you need to add a coverage button on the "bell" extention for the "sending" extention (the one you want to cover).

That does it. Thank you. I knew there was something simple I was doing wrong.

Glad it works!
