Question to Active Directory users,

I migrated my Domain controllers, and when i go in AD and users administration, All objects are in alphabetical order. But when i want to add a new user from user list on a share, i got a chaotic list, and it takes me half an hour to find the good one in my 5000 user list.

Is there anything that can be done? I didnt find anything on the subject at microsoft.

Thanks.

just click on the top gray bar of the window, and it will sort by alphabetical names. Have you tried this? pbxman

try it on a share, u cant sort objects here.....

I just tried it myself on a share, and it does come up out of order. But when I click on the "Name" bar above the list of objects, they sort alphabetically. I tried it on an existing share as well as when creating a new share.

I guess Im not seeing what you must be seeing. pbxman

I've also tried this and clicking on "Name" did sort my list. You can also try selecting a random name in the list and then just start typing the users first name, followed by the last name as it is entered in his/her AD profile. AD will look through the list and select the first matching name it finds on every letter you type.

Or you can remove <<type names separated by semicolons or choose from list>> and type in the username here. Click on Check Names and the user you are after will appear

Hope that helps.
