ACT 2007 - Password issues

I've had ACT for 6 mo. with no problems. Tried to open it last week and it gave me a message that the database had been deleted. Found the .pad file and pointed to it to open. Now, it is asking me for a password. I don't believe we set up a password for ACT.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated since I can't even get into the program.

Amy - there are a bunch of programs out there that will recover passwords from ACT! database files (had to do this recently). Suggest you goto Google and search Recover ACT! password. Most of these programs offer trial versions - this may be all that you need - worked for me.

Yes, as far as I know. I honestly don't remember setting up a user name and password

The user name is usually the full name of the user... ie your full name

I had the same problem when trying to restore the database. User name is first and last name. The password on mine was blank, I never set up a password and I just tabbed by that field during setup. Try not putting anything in the password field. I did get the database to restore after much fretting and fussing.
