Is there an ActiveX component that lets one use .pdf files as images in Access forms and reports?

If so, how can I get it? What are the limitations (using Access 2000)?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Scott Graham

Yes, there should be some AdobeAcrobatReader object. John Fill

Dear John:

Thanks for the reply. Can you be a little more specific. I've searched the Help topics and found very little guidance.

I've inserted unbound Adobe .pdf file objects, but all it shows is the Adobe icon. I'd like to use the .pdf file as a background image. Can this be done?

Can you provide details on how to do this or where to find the information to do it.

Thank you in advance... Scott Graham

I haven't found a control that will display a PDF, and I've been looking for awhile. Though clearly a work around, I've used the folowing with success:

1)Install the Adobe Acrobat Reader.
2)Include a Webbrowser control on your form.

The webbrowser control is contained in the Microsoft Internet Control (shdocvw.dll in your system subdirectory) that's loaded as a part of Internet Explorer. With the Acrobat Reader installed the Webcontrol can be used to display Acrobat PDF files. You can even place other controls on top of the Webbrowser contol, simulating the use of the PDF as a background.

Dear Rhenderso:

Thanks. I'll try it this weekend.

Does this allow you to print the background as well as the form fields?

Do you have a test form you could email me so I could see how you did it (grahamag@erols.com).

Thanks.
