Hi,
We are coming from using ePOS 5.5 and "upgraded" to the exact same but differently named Acdev POS. We are installing Acdev POS on a different server.(and removing ePOS)
Our database is a sql 2005 server, and the os's are win2003 servers.

Our problem occurs when installing Acdev POS. When in Accpac ERP trying to activate the data, the list is empty. How can I make Acdev show up here so I can activate it? If I try to create a company in Acdev POS anyway it of course gives me an error saying "Incorrect Activation Version. Please run the and (not a typo) activate ACDEV POS server from the Administrative Services Data Activation."

I realize that it is not a very popular program and it may be next to impossible to get exact info, but any info on how accpac populates the table so I can see why its not picking up the name would be great.

Thanks!

You need to deactivate ePOS before you can activate POS, they cannot coexist in the same company. You will notice they both have the same program prefix of PF in Accpac. You can contact Paul Wong at ACDev, his support is very good.
Your other option is to create a new company in Accpac and activate all the modules EXCEPT for POS/ePOS. Dump the data from your LIVE company and from this NEW company. Copy the *.REC files from the LIVE dump folder to the NEW dump folder, but do not copy CSAPP.REC. Load the data into your NEW company and you should have a replica of your LIVE company without POS/ePOS active. Activate POS in this NEW company. You can load the data into your LIVE company if you wish to use the old company database, but make a backup of the database first.

Thank you so much. Exactly the information I needed and it was nice and quickly given as well. All without making me feel like a dumbass. I was able to remove the epos line from my csapp table, install acdev and now all is hunky-dory again. Thanks!
