Accessing an Oracle database

When attempting to create a new report accessing an Oracle 7 database, the connection wizzard hangs and the process stops responding. When opening an existing report from the APS or local machine, then there is no problem with the connection. The init.ora files appear ok and previously we were able to make connections.

The software has been reinstalled and machine rebooted this had no effect.

Can anyone suggest a reason for why this is happening

Are you using Crystal Professional? I installed a copy of CR Std over an earlier version of CR Pro, and everything worked until I upgraded OS. Then CR refused to connect to Oracle until I upgraded.
