5550 Console - windows standard user

Does anybody know how to setup the console software / windows 7 so a standard user without administrative rights can use the application without knowing an admin account / password - thinking of something like 'runas' etc. !? Thanks for your help !!

Run as administrator or something should work but I recommend that whenever possible to just login as a local admin account and install it. I have seen sometimes where some versions are a little bit flaky on install with the runas. Once it is installed I believe that it can be used by a user without admin privileges. Also with Windows 7 make sure that you are using the correct installer with the supported level of MCD.

Hi AlphaMann, just a misunderstanding (beg your pardon) - i already installed the console software as a local admin - but when logged in as a local standard user nothing happens / console do not start OR when installed with a domain admin account, next using a domain user, i can start the console software by right click using the domain admin credentials BUT 'runas user:domain/user /savecred or somthing else doesn't work !?

So the local admin can open the software and it is running correctly? I have confirmed that users do not need admin rights. If so the next things to look at are:
What OS is the PC running (Is it Win 7 64bit)?
What version of the 5550 software did you install?
What release of MCD are you running?
What directory did you install the software to (do the other accounts have the proper rights to that directory)?

Just want to confirm that everything is meeting the requirements before searching further.
