3300 Cx MCD 5 - embedded VM / changing passcode lenght using ESM ??

Hi everyone,

i'm going to setup a 3300 Cx / MCD 5 and want to change
the default VM passcode length from 4 to 6 digits using ESM (instead of a phone) - but i can't find any hint for doing so!?
Possible or not?? Regards and THX for help!

Nothing to set, the passcodes can be 2-7 digits in lentgh. Be aware though that this may impact some options where the digits don't match.(passcode/extension numbers (which can be up to 7 digits long as well)

" Auto Attendant Transfer only works if extension numbers and mailbox numbers have the same number of digits." is one.

thanks for your reply - i started this thread because i want to
change the default VM passcodes (admin, manager, technician)
using 6 digits [ESM --> voicemail / system settings / vm options / security] - but only 4 digits are accepted! Though i thought the default lenght has to be changed first. Can you please explain this to me! THX !

Enter passodes to allow access to the administrator mailbox functions. All three passcodes must be entered in order to access the mailbox.

Passcodes must be digits in the range 0-9 and from 3 to 6 digits in length.

Use this procedure to change the mailbox digit length.

Note: If the mailbox digit length and the directory number digit lengths are different, you will not be able to edit mailboxes from the Group Administration Tool, or from the User and Device Configuration form.

CAUTION: Doing a New Installation will erase your voice mail database.

Access the Administrator's Mailbox using the default Administrator passcode.

Press [1] for New Installation.

Follow the prompts to set the mailbox digit length and other voice mail parameters.

DO NOT CHANGE THE MAILBOX LENGTH AS DESCRIBED ABOVE

ABORT ABORT ABORT!!!!

To change the [highlight]PASSCODE[/highlight] length, simply go to option 6 and follow the prompts.
