Hello,
We have just purchased 15 new 25xx series switches, and are having some problems at our colo with the following setup:
-2 circuits
-15M data pipe to the net
(172.80.10.1 is the gw)
-15M MPLS connection to our host sites for voice/data
(172.80.10.254 is the mpls router)

When I replace our existing POS switch with the 2512, base config, no VLANs setup yet or anything, I can always ping the MPLS lans without any problems and everything internal including the .1 address of our juniper/netscreen-50 firewall/vpn appliance.

After maybe 30 seconds or so, I loose the ability to ping outside, and even when telneted into our firewall connected directly to the public net, i am unable to ping out.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

you should have purchased 26xx swithes. the 25xx range are cr@p

THanks for that info, any USEFUL information though? :)

We use 2500 range - no problems for the price, have you telneted in and done a show log?

If they're in default there's no spanning tree but if you create a loop something else might hiccup if it detects a loop.

They default with flow control off and lacp on which can cause issues and the auto-mdix can cause issues - the latest firmware includes a command to globally turn this feature off in case it causes a problem.
