We currently have one 2250 set up that answers all of the calls placed to our main incoming number. Keep in mind that we are pretty small, so one person usually has no problem answering all of the incoming calls.
They want to know if it is possible to forward the incoming calls to an extension (or voicemail) when the attendant is at lunch or on a short break without going into night mode & I'm guessing that the 2250 does not allow for that.
If the 2250 was removed and replaced with a 3904 would the forwarding be possible at all?

chg NIT1 and put it in nites (2250), then chg it back in ld 15 after her lunch, easy chg..

That does make sense, but I was looking more for a easy way for the attendant to forward the calls without me having to reprogram the console every time it is necessary. We are small but do I have 4 sites & I'm not always avaialble when the attendant needs to go to the girl's room or run an errand. If the 2250 is changed to a 3904, can the hunting be diverted with a forwarding? My guess is no. Just trying to find solutions for this individual.

That's the only way I know buddy, but that doesn't mean it is the only way, maybe someone else will add in. Good luck.

do as bigindian65 say, except add a tim1 into it. so during the day working hours 8-5 or whatever set nit1 to the extension you want. define a tim2 and nit2 for afterhours.

Thanks for the responses - you've pretty much confirmed my suspicions - much appreciated guys.

You could also run the NIT1 into Call Pilot and use a TOD table to direct the call based on day and time.

couple of points.. you can forward a 2250, about 10 different ways.. if you want to remove the 2250.. the know that the switch is going into nights, forever. that is not a problem if you plan on it.. your nit data takes place of the atdn, and you do not get a switch of idc tables.. if you have night menus, they stil work, via clock as does ncfw in acd.. just some things to think about.. we removed out 6 2250's and installed 3905's with symposium.. way better service..

You could use ATDN OVERFLOW to send to a phone after x number of rings.

How do I set up the ATDN OVERFLOW? That might be a solution.

you can not use atdn overflow without a 2250.. you can use that with the 2250.. you can use interflow to an acd group. y

you can do it two ways:

1. "the not-so-easy-way"
Set-up a Central Answering Position (CAP). The CAP is an alternative to the M2250 and must be a 2616.
You set-up an ACD queue with the CAP as an agent. Operator logs off the CAP queue --> queue on nite --> call answering is controlled by the NCFW --> goes to whoever needs to answer the call.

2. "the easier way"
Auto-terminate the lines to the 3904 --> define 3904's EHT to whoever needs to answer the call [or to an overhead ringer, people hear it and picks-up (RNP) the call], also add MSB on 3904. --> operator goes to lunch, presses MSB key, call goes to back-up person.

hope this helps!

March71 - the CAP does not have to be an M2616. It is nothing more that an ACD position with the addition of an expansion module (with BFS keys) for monitoring any positions. It can be an M2616, an M3904/M3905 or an IP Phone 2004/1140E/1150E.
