I have migrated all of the user mailboxes and Public folders to the new 2003 server. As recommended here, I pulled the network cable from the 5.5 server to see what happens. There are 2 or 3 users that share Outlook folders. They have given each other permissions to view update etc. These users were getting messages to please wait while Outlook is trying to retrieve data from the 5.5 server. How can I find out what data is still stored there? I want to retire the server and remove the last Exchange 5.5 server as outlined by MS.

Wow, this just happened to us! We opened a case with MS, and we stumped them too. What fixed it for us, was to delete their email profile and create a new one. Our new servers were even in a completely different Organization. I hope your installation is smaller than ours, 2500+ mailboxes!
