Laurie Thank you, i solved the problem my ftpaccess file was empty. when the hardisk capacity was full, i was trying to ftp to the server, without knowing it. it must have caused this problem. if you ever need,the wuftp site has all the sample configuartions ready...

thanks san, yes we do use the mysql with perl, and as you say, we had indexed it, to optimize speed. we have run some tests with the super smack load tester program, and we have found that indexing helped a lottt. The deamon we use at the momemt ,is a perl code that works...

san thank you for your help, it was such a stupid mistake i made since, i transferred the file with ftp and with the .ads extension- the script was not loaded , in binary mode and gave the error, when i renamed the file ..cgi to ..ads,on te server it worked fine...

Wullie , thank you for your reply, yes i have restarted, actually apache understands .ads is a .cgi script, bu t it gives internal server error. when i try sample.cgi it works when i try sample.ads it gives the int.server error. bu t understands it a cgi...
