It did matter that the operating system is Vista.
I found my answer after more searching.
I found that my Word Perfect X3 on Windows XP used fonts from the Windows\fonts subdirectory.
I looked at them and the names were a match to the fonts I used.
I copied the fonts to a USB thumb drive and...
Please explain what kind of change you wish to make to the fonts. That is not clear.
Do you wish to change your default font in new documents?
Do you want to add more fonts?

I have the same thing happen. I read the comments on wpuniverse.com but I don't intend to register at every place it might be posted.
I have had it happen on a regular, sporadic basis.
It's frustrating bug.
I just inserted new text or edited text and it appears to be an "undo" not triggered...
I upgraded to WP X3 and when installed, still had all my old fonts from WP9 or 10 (my prior install).
Then my hard drive crashed, but I -DID- have all files backed up to a backup USB drive.
When I installed WP on new computer, I didn't find my old version of WP9, so I only installed X3 and NOW...
