Hi all,
Please help a relatively-inexperienced-in-Exchange guy out. We've been asked to fix an Exchange 2003 (SP2) set up: it has a back-end server that's working fine, and a front-end OWA/OMA server that was OK...
Problems started when the OWA server was moved to a different logical subnet...
Hi all,
Hope someone can help me out. I've inherited a Exchange 2003 (on Windows 2003) server that on the surface is working fine, but has some big problems under the surface. I've only a little knowledge of Exchange, but am fairly experienced in other areas.
The main problem seems to be MAPI...
Hi all,
Thanks for the very useful replies. I was working at the problem from the OWA side of things - the assumption was that the problem must be at the server/database level as the message had made it from the client PC to the server. However, going into the client PC allowed me to delete the...
Hi all,
Very new to Exchange 2007. We've installed a SBS2008 server, and fortunately the Exchange system was more or less pre-configured for us. I've managed to complete the missing parts of the config and the system is up and running for 20 users with OWA, Internet mail etc.
However, one user...
@Dublin73: Yeah, I think I'll try that this weekend. I've had a look at packets coming in and out of site B's DC, and it's definitely being hit by the 'client' - just some part of the login process is going over the WAN to site A.
@58sniper: Yes, site B's DC is set as a global catalog server.
They're all pointed at a single DNS server running on a NetWare server. The server is AD-compatible and all AD DNS-related diags check out OK - i.e. if I do the nslookup check for _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.Domain_Name, there are records for both DCs.
Yeah, AD Sites and Services all looks fine. I've ran DCDIAG on both DC's, everything checks out fine. I've also ran NLTEST /dsgetdc:company.com from a server in site B, and it returns with the Site B's DC.
Yes, we have two zones set up. However, I don't think this is a Citrix problem - we see the traffic on Site A's AD server even if we log in through RDP, or even at the server console.
Hi guys & girls,
Our company has two main sites connected by a private WAN link. There are servers at both sites, including a couple of dozen Citrix servers.
Site A was originally the only site in the business, with site B coming online later. Site A has a dedicated Active Directory server...
We're just about to start out upgrade from Galaxy 6.1 to 7.0. I've received the media and am planning the upgrade, however I've got a couple of unanswered questions:
* Will our current v6.1 licenses "just work" after installing v7? We've kept our VIP payments up to date, and although we've got...
After a bit of clicking about, I found the "Change Data Path" option, which seems to be as close to the migrate function as I'm going to get. I've eventually got all my old tapes showing up under the "Assigned Media" pool for the library, and I can view contents, delete contents etc.
I can't...
@mspope: No, I don't seem to be able to do ANYTHING with the media - load it, export it, anything.
@Frbutler: OK, sounds like a plan - but I can't find the "migrate media" option, could you help please? :)
Our HP Autoloader stopped working yesterday, so we've had it swapped under warranty. I've reconfigured the MA to detect the new autoloader and drives, and new backups are working fine.
However, I need to restore data from a few weeks ago, on a tape written by the old drive, and the media is...
[blush] Don't know what I was thinking of - changing the SP settings regarding streams wouldn't affect currently running jobs. Starting new jobs gives me a lovely multi-stream backup :)
Thank you all for all your help; I'm going to split the server into subclients, which is a great idea on many...
Thanks for all the replies. It's helped me focus on the cause of the problem, and to a large degree I think the problem is due to our lack of multi-stream backups. When I did the file copy test, I wasn't comparing "apples with apples" - the file copy was of a single large file, whereas the "real...
We have our iDataAgents backing up to a Magnetic Library on a Win 2003 server (Galaxy 6.1 SP4). One of the iDA's is a Windows 2003 server with several terabyte of stuff to be backed up.
From this, or any other iDA, we never get more than 35Gb/hour throughput. This isn't an issue for the other...
Thanks folks. I'm hoping to reinstate our paid support from CommVault later this year (we had support from our reseller before, and it was useless so we let it lapse). Hopefully I won't need the password before then, fingers crossed :-)
Afraid I've tried them already ::-) We haven't got any support from CommVault (apart from VIP); I did grub around in the SQL tables and found what appears to be the media password row, but I'm loath to blank it in case I break everything.
Does anyone know of any way to reset the on-media password? Our CommCell was installed by a consultant who's lost since disappeared, and I've inherited the setup. There's no problem right now, but it concerns me that a password has been set that we potentially might need in a hurry.
I can't...
Hi,
Yes, I went all the way back to 'shipping' 6.1 to start again, but it still wouldn't play ball. I eventually got SP4 and later updates installed by manually moving the problem files out of place by renaming them and then running the individual patch setups. It took forever, and it doesn't...
