I've never known a drive to do such a thing but I haven't been in this industry for too long so I don't doubt it.

I'm having issues with my DVD burner that I've never seen before. When inserting a DVD-R to burn files onto, the DVD burner becomes a CD-ROM right before my eyes and says it cannot burn the media.

So I'm looking to copy a tape to another tape with only one tape drive. Seems that this could be done with great ease but the more and more I read, it looks impossible. If someone could prove me wrong and show me a way I'd be in there debt.

Thank you for your help. I think that just might work for what I want to do. By the way I'm using the GFS system if that helps.

Well I just got in touch with the tech support at CA. Seems once a job fails there is no way to restart that job.
I was wondering if there is any way to restart a failed backup. Say you forget to put a weekly tape in the drive and when you come back monday you notice it fails. Is there anyway to have it run on that monday morning? I've tried right clicking on the failed job, selecting "run" and all it does...
