Error: No Existing 'PublicFolder' matches the following Identity: '\'.
I have exchange 2010sp1 on a 2008R2 box. We have a perfectly functional public folders database for use with office 2003 clients. Under org config, mailbox, database management I can see my two public folders databases (one...
I am a domain admin. I'm not sure if that gives me the required rights. Is there a role past that I need to hold?
The Templates I have installed (by this I mean if I open the certificate authority snap in, under certificate templates, I see these) I have

Hi all,
Certificates are new to me, but I've been working with them for the past few weeks. My goal is to get apache on server 2008 working with ssl, using a certificate that fits. We have a 2008CA in the environment. I need a .crt output with a decent length valid period. I believe I can...
I am trying to create a csr with openssl, sign it with a 2008R2 CA, and have a crt file to use with apache. I can create a request, heck I can even sign it with the 2008CA, but the problem is I wind up with a .cer file instead of a .crt file.
Any idea how to remedy this? 3 hours of googling...
It seems I need to read up. While I figured read only way changeable by another DC, I had figured that it meant you could not make changes directly to the RODC. Thanks a lot for the info
Thanks for that explanation. It does not seem to me that I'd want the regular DC to approve changes to something I've marked read only however. How can I go about changing this? I thought that initial check mark would be the end of it.
Setup: I have two domain controllers (2008 R2, forest functional 2008R2). One is my primary, and the other was set up recently as a read only domain controller (DCpromo, check the box for read only domain controller).
My problem: The read only domain controller isn't seeming all that read...
Hey all,
I've inherited responsibility for an exchange 2010 server. Clients range from outlook 2003 to outlook 2007.
I created a user with a mailbox on 9/9/10, it is now 9/13/10 and they do not show up in my offline address book. If I go into my webmail, they do show up.
I'd like to verify...
By main collection I meant the collection above which the sub-collections exist.
My problem is that the collection I need to make (lets call it NEW) needs to exclude a collection (let's call it PITA) for which new sub collections get made periodically. So I'd like NEW to reflect changes to PITA...
Hi all,
I'm trying to make a new collection with a query for "not in a different collection & not in it's subcollections" and having a tough time at it.
I typically use SubSelected Values - System Resource - Resource ID - is not in - "select ResourceID from SMS_CM_RES_COLL_DOF0002C"
I believe...
I have a .bat file with the following in it. It deletes a scheduled task named defrag using credentials I provide to it. If I copy this exact line into a command prompt and run it the thing works fine. If I throw it into a batch file and run it that way it loops indefinitely. I was hoping...
I have a drive holding the transaction logs, and am running full backups. The drive is filling.
The procedure outlined below allows me to shrink it

DBCC SHRINKFILE (<FileName>)

I don't get why the following does not work for me. Unsure why I'd even need any of the log specific things below.

sorry to keep reposting my own message. It seems I can restore fully with no transaction log (provided I just want to restore to when the last full backup was created). So can I just run a transaction log backup, then a full backup, then shrink, toss the transaction log file, keep the database...
Shouldn't a full backup allow me to shrink the transaction log? I thought transaction logs serve to hold transactions done since the previous full backup?
Hi all,
I've browsed previous questions but can't seem to find my answer. Heads up I'm a relative SQL newb, and it is not my main job, though I've spent a few full days trying to figure this out by myself + books + google searches + reading.
Essentially we have Transaction logs filling up a...
I do set their home folder, the setting is basic, we do redirect my docs to their home folder, move the contents is checked. it is enabled, I had the logon/off synch in user settings, moved it to computer settings, still having the same issue. They can browse/write files and so I do not believe...
I'm at wits end here and have exhausted google I feel like. So I have synchronization set through group policy. A group policy redirects a users "my documents" to their home folder (set through active directory user profile). This bit works fine. There's also another group policy that is set to...
