Xerox contacted me and said they could not supply the firmware update listed on the web as it is too large even for their ftp server. The file I need is "Update062701_2006_Rev8.ps". Has anyone access to this update?
Thanks again.
I have Xerox looking for the missing firmware file. I'll see what they come up with.
Iteminc has used parts for cheap and I've bought off them in the past. They might have what I need (if I need anything).
I know the printer is older but it still prints great and I have a good...
Thanks for your reply.
1. Have you access to updated firmware? Can't get it from Xerox and it's not available on the website.
2. the network connection is built into the main pwb so I can't change it.

I have been having trouble with the photocopy component of my DC2006. I get the recurring message "Scanner Error Cycle Power". I recycle the power and everything works well again. If the printer sits idle for a couple of hours (or more) the message comes up again. As well, sometimes while...
Cultofon,
I am not looking for anything at the moment as my DC2006 is running fine but there will be a day... I have the service manual but it doesn't have the field notes and I have heard that there the big X uses an online searchable database of diagnostic tips. Would like to have access to...
I have a DC2006 with the same print engine and have noticed the same problem. I helped cure this problem by cleaning out the BTR2. These instructions are just suggestions from an amateur and are not warranted.
Open the front cover and move the lever to loosen the belt.Remove the copy cartridge...
009-358 is "BTR Home Position RAP". Remove the fuser drawer (lower output tray). Look into where the fuser drawer was and at the back is a black platic tray (BTR). Pull it directly out. This tray will probably be full of waste toner. Now above where the BTR was, is the belt cleaner. There is a...
Following up on this post. I bought a copy of the 790/2006 service manual and spent a bunch of time trying to figure out how to read it. Used it to take the machine apart and clean it.
There was a whole lot of waste toner inside the machine. There is a tray inside called the BTR2 Assembly that...
The TRO Sensor does not sense the IBT Belt in home position. The IBT Belt is below the copy cartridge when it removes. There is a reflective patch on the back of the belt which the TRO sensor reads. The service manual says you can clean the TRO Sensor and the reflective patch.
I don't understand the reply from Julbac as the 790 is a laser printer and the 840 is a solid ink printer. How can a head from an 840 replace one from 790. I think Julbac may have posted to the wrong thread
By the way the 009-340 is "ADC Cleaning Failure".
There is a routine to determine where...
DC2006 will print at the posted rates for some of the time but at other times it will take up to 3 or 4 min to print a single page. Sometimes recycling or cancelling all jobs and resubmitting them will correct the problem. The machine seems to be cycling repeatedly during this time. There is a...
