I've Checked in disk management to make sure it wasnt a usb stick or partion. Confirmed with the user that he was able to access the files without anything plugged in to the laptop.
Last week i got asked to decommision an old laptop running XP. It was on a domain that no longer existed and the user wanted it for home use.
I removed the machine from the domain
created a new user account
enabled fast user switching

there isnt an option in file sharing to turn it on or off
I only have the sharing tab which doesnt allow me to change the permissions
the 2nd drive has 2 set users and i need to access there files i have the user names and passwords but can only browse the files on the drive without set...
im trying to recover some data for a friend so ive put his hdd into my machine and can read most of the data except whats stored in the my documents\user name directories which is what he wants
i have the user names and passwords, but not sure how i can access it
any ideas?
