Before you go replacing too much I would check a couple of items. I saw a very similar situation with one of my servers and what it ended up being was an incompatibility between the SCSI card and the server. Here are a couple of items:
First, verify that the SCSI card and the server are...
I am using HP SIM to monitor the server and I don't see anything in the IM logs and there are no hardware alarms at all. I have never heard of HP Servicecontrol Manager, does it have some functionality that SIM doesn't?

How many do you need. I have set up 4 arrays on the 5i controller before, so I imagine the 6i could at least handle that. My guess is that unless you have some sort of elaborate drive configuration you will run out of drive slots before you max out the controller

Highlight the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VERITAS\Backup Exec\Engine\Backup
On the menu...
I have tried this several times before as well and it always corrected the problem. Now I have a new server that wasn't built by me and no one seems to know the password to the admin account and this isn't working. The version of the IM agent is 7.3.
Does anyone have any other suggestions
