Thank you for pointing me towards custom formulas. however the one above isn't providing the data i require. In words the formula I need should be.
Remaining Work(total work - work of duration period start date to current date)
this is all new to me and any suggestion on how i shoud set this...
I'm looking for a way of showing hours remaining from the current date without needing to fill in the actual work section. as I am trying to report predicted hours remaining rather than predicted - actual remaining.
So for example if i've allowed 100hrs for a project and its the 4th today so...
thanks. Do you know if there is a way of showing who does what when by task summary rather than the break down of each sub task? I've played with the filters to no avail.
Is there anyway I can update/show my work complete in hours/days rather than %? I am using Project 2002.
I have a number of tasks, fixed duration, with a number of resources assigned. Ideally I would like a way of flagging/reporting that based on the current date I have x hrs planned remaining...
Can anyone help? I am trying to create a report in project 2002 that shows the number of work hours planned, per resource, per month by task name, until the end of the project. I am not very familar with the report function in project and any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
I manage real, international projects but the people who pay me want pretty pictures as well as sats and reports... hence the question...

I have a programme showing a number of projects with people assigned to tasks from a resource pool. their hours predicted / worked are then entered into the task usage view generating the gantt chart view.
i would like to know if there is anyway of taking the information in the resource usage...
Our Timesheet management system can export reports mirroring the task view into excel (.csv) format. Does anyone know if or how I can then map or import this information into the task usage view of project 2002?
Thanks in advance.
Have you tried right clicking on the bar you want to change and selecting the format bar? this allows you to chance the colour and style of that bar only. To change all bar colours go to format - bar styles.
Hope that helps

3. click on "use resources" and from the drop down list select your pool - press ok.
4. now click on the task you want to assign people to.
5. at the top of your screen there...
Problem Solved - Work and Actual work are essentially the same thing. The view that is needed for the comparision between planned time and actual time is "baseline work" which you can view after saving your baseline and right clicking on details - detail styles.

If so the best thing to do is to open a new project file and crete a resource sheet with all your employees listed on it. this creates a pool from which you can allocate people. After you have done this you can go back...
