.thinprint bottle necking on terminal server

we have sometimes over 60+ people logged into our terminal server running thinprint. sometimes they experience wait times of 15 min plus, and i was wondering other than beefing up the box for faster spooling, or lowering the dpi on each individual client printer to lessen the print job size...

XP Hangs on Boot, right before Welcome screen.

and also, is your system set to automatic restart upon crashing? by default it is turned in XP. to check, right clk my computer---properties----advanced tab---startup and recovery---settings-- and under system failure, have reboot unchecked, this way if a BSOD is issued, then at least you can...

XP Hangs on Boot, right before Welcome screen.

yeah i would run spybot S$D and Adaware before i really got deep into troubleshooting... after you do that and it still hangs....then.. its not far enough along in the boot loader to be able to write a dump. there is more that we can try. but first... have you tried last known good...

XP Hangs on Boot, right before Welcome screen.

and also, sorry i didnt read the initial post better, but it looks like it crashes before the first user mode process even starts, smss.exe, this is what opens up the page file and this is one example of when a dump will not be recorded. this step happens kinda late in the startup process, so we...

XP Hangs on Boot, right before Welcome screen.

also forgot to say, one instance where this wont work is if a driver was updated but was already present in the last good control set, so that driver will still be there updated. there are a few other things but if you have to you'll come to that later if needed. i'd really like to take a look...

XP Hangs on Boot, right before Welcome screen.

can you look and see if there were any minidumps created for these crashes? by default they should be in the c:/minidump folder. but for the simple things first, try F8 during the bootup and select "last known good". now this wont work if we have a software or security corruption in the...

    Moving phones

yeah i agree, set relocation can really mess the blocks up and make your phone guys cuss you. but if you can hound dog the phones back to the blocks, just switch the copper to the new jack and punch it down. that way you dont even have to mess with any ports/extensions. and when i mean "hound...

    BCM 400 BCMDetector error

yep it was the RPM corruption, we think it was from when we had a brown out, and the power was cycling on/off a few times, so this file got banged up during the times it was in the middle of shutting down or booting up. aaaaand i learned im not allowed to use the putty.exe, nortel dude told me...

    BCM 400 BCMDetector error

i am downloading the log files now, but on your post, it guess this was an email or something cause there was mention of an attached good and bad log file example. or was this the example: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 335872 Mar 13 18:32 Basenames -rw-r--r-- 1 root root...
