    Distributed Offce

i did end up getting the challenge response for craft from Avaya and i got in and defaulted it. now i'm working on just playing with this thing and getting the gateway registered to the DO Processing Engine...*shrug* this is interesting.

    Transfer to VM

the only way i've been able to accomplish this on Definity family systems with AUDIX is creating an extension and an automated attendant where all the extension digits are set to 'call-answer' instead of 'transfer'. it's not a quick way, usually the process is to press <transfer> dial the...

    Distributed Offce

ok, well i guess then the 'default' was changed and my tech made NO note of it..which is really silly. so, in someway,i need to find out how to break this thing so that i can either default it again and start over or something. i think there's a craft login for this and i'll probably have to...

    Distributed Offce

Has anyone worked with the Distributed office yet? i had one that was configured in my lab apparently before i got to play with it myself to familiarize myself with it, but the tech set passwords on it that i don't even know and apparently he doesn't remember (*doh), so i'm looking to find out...

    S8500 and USB modem issue

is it an 8500B or 8500C? 8500B's are currently not supporting 3.1.2 and the samp board therefore the modem. Avaya is aware of this issue but is not being very proactive at fixing it. Avaya at this case is goign to recommend going to 8500C, but with some customer's that's not a viable solution...

    partition problem

you only have ONE ARS table. you only need ONE entry for "1212" and you send it to a route pattern as stated above that is "pN" Command: <cha ars ana 1212>. you go and change that Partition Route with <cha part N> and assign the route pattern for PGN 1 which would be all other stations with a...

    Inbound Caller-ID blocking on S8710 CM3

And i wonder if you can do that even if they have a 24xx phone that is pretty much display based as it is? I don't think i can. Then they won't be able to see the feature buttons for their phone and i can't have that. If this customer had 64xx phones, sure, i'd do that in a heartbeat but i...

    Inbound Caller-ID blocking on S8710 CM3

dude, i'm sooo with you. i hate the sales people. they'll say anything to make a sale, but that's ok, i put it right back on them to scramble and get the answer. i Gave up lookin (well, sorta) because i told them in the beginning as a pretty damn good software specialist that i knew of no way to...

    Inbound Caller-ID blocking on S8710 CM3

uh, yah, but i'm dealing witha customer that likes the 24xx sets which are all display and desi-less, so that's not a viable solution at this point. This is a new installation, and Avaya said it could be done soooo, i sit and wait. :-)

    Inbound Caller-ID blocking on S8710 CM3

yah, that was my thought so, but i have been sorta forced to be convinced that it is possible, however, as i said, Avaya cannot seem to back it up even tho they said it can be done and that they did in fact do it for a prison.

    Inbound Caller-ID blocking on S8710 CM3

that works with blocking inbound caller-ID as well on a per-station basis? I thought that was only used for outbound restriction sending ANI.

    DCS Question

I'd imagine you'd configure your Ds1 for DCS as such: Signaling Mode: isdn-pri COnnect: pbx Interface: Host side: Network Slave side: pbx Then you'd set up your signal group the same as you would going to out to the network initially, as a standard PRI with the d-channel assignment &...

    Incoming CLI on station display

oh, someone else is asking the same thing. I'm asking to block incoming CLI to individual stations as well. No one seems to know how to do it but Avaya seems to think there's a way but can't back it up with documentation or instructions on how that is accomplished. I tried doing it with "cha inc...

Converting from 4 to 5 digits in PBX

i don't know about ASA being able to do what Provision can, not even coming close. Provision essentially keeps everything about a station, from the features set to "y" and the buttons. ASA can't do that. And you'd have to make sure you have enough licenses to essentially duplicate stations so...

Converting from 4 to 5 digits in PBX

i recently did a 4-5 digit conversion using Provision myself for a 6,000 station switch, 5,000 agents & 820 vectors. Using excel and formula's, the manipulation of digits was the easy part. The hardest part was going into each station & vector to check if any 4-digit references existed. That was...

    Inbound Caller-ID blocking on S8710 CM3

Does anyone know of a way where caller-ID or ANI can be blocked on a per-station basis using ISDN-PRI trunks? Avaya has apparently said that it's possible but no one has been able to provide back up documentation stating how it is actually done. The information provided so far have not worked...

VPN Remote phone for 46XX phones.

ok, So has anyone run this tomcat server for the WebLM & integrated Management on the same server to serve both licenses for each product family as well? there seems to be a "license" for the firmware aspect of these VPN phones now. Has anyone worked with this in depth. A customer of mine is...

SIPSI TN8412AP NOT TALKING TO MY S8400

Make sure you also have the bus terminators on the G650 as well or this won't work. i found that out the hard way as well. -Wes

    CM 3.0 CSI question

right, there is no such thing as a CM 3.0 Prologix or G3V3 prologix since CM 3.0 is only supported on S8xx servers as indicated in the previous post. -Wes

    Attd Console

you can use whatever you want for the "attendant" but you can't define anything but "console" or "302" IP or ported as an true translated attendant in Definity. As phone guy said above, you're simply using a VDN & Vector for 0 to do a route-to command to an extension which could be a hunt group...
