    Help with Fax Extension

Hi All, I need to make ext 25 my fax extension. I set 25 as the fax extension in VM programming and when we try to dial out we get a high pitched tone. I know the line works because when I connect it directly to one of the incoming lines in the phone closet (i.e. bypass the phone system) we...

KAZAA! Thanks, that was it. Ext 26-29 (VM ports) still had lines 1-4 assigned to them. As soon as I removed the assignment it worked! I owe you guys a big <insert favorite beverage here>.....

Hi Tom, Night Service is not on. 770 is integrated VMI with linear hunting. Is there something else I should be checking? Like line assignments to extensions, etc? Not sure where else to look. Thanks again for all of your help!

Hi Tom, Mailbox 771 is COS 15 770 is the overflow group for 771 (i.e. 771 overflows to 770 after 20 seconds) Cover Group 30 is assigned to 770 All incoming lines (only 4, in Pool 70) are assigned to 771 According to what I've been seeing here, the groups are setup correctly, so there must be...

    AA Answers Too Fast

Hi Guys, Thanks for the responses. I did printouts of grp 770 and 771 and found a couple things...mainly that 771 was still set as an overflow for 770 and 770 was an overflow for 771. So I removed 771 as an overflow. I also set the queue priority to 15 for grp 771 and 16 for grp 770 (I think...

No, if I dial 771 internally I get a ring then a low-beep as if the extension is busy. It just rings and rings.

Lg - yes, all settings are on 771. Tom - When I dial 771 I get a ring with a beep at the end like it's busy. Thanks!

Yes that is exactly how it is set up. I double checked it. Still just 1 ring and AA answers. Since it seems it is overflowing to 770 after one ring instead of the 20 seconds as specified in the overflow settings, would the issue be with group 771? Or maybe it's some obscure setting somewhere...

    AA Answers Too Fast

Hi Tom, I have 771 overflowing to 770. Cover group 30 has my ext's w/ vm boxes and covers group 770. When I go into VMS programming and turn off delay on AA/VM ports, the AA picks up after 1 ring. The ext's in Cover Grp 30 have their ring delays set to 3 rings. The Overflow settings are 99...

    Virtual Extension

Ok, so for example I have an ext 10 and an ext 710 for the adjunct. Then I program 710 to forward to a cell. I'll see if I can figure it out :) Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll post back to this thread if I have any problems....

    Virtual Extension

When I bought my Merlin the sales guy said I could do Virtual Extensions (i.e. assign a bogus extension like 123 that goes to a cell or something) but I do not see a way to do that. I know how to setup outcalling to a cell now (thanks to this forum!) but do not see how to setup a virtual...

Hi All, I have an MLM-007 and am having difficulty getting the following to work correctly: Trunks (Pool 70) Assigned to Group 771 (empty group) Group 770 (VM Sys) set as overflow with 99 calls, 20 secs Cover Group 30 (ext w/ VM boxes) covering 770 with 3 ring delay for all extensions. Delay...

    Linear Group Call

In system programming under Cover Delay you can set the number of rings for each extension (assuming they are in a cover group.)

    Getting Fax Tone Sometimes?

Yeah, that was it. Duh, after going back to the manual I see the port allocation. Noob mistake. Thanks for the tip!

    Getting Fax Tone Sometimes?

I have no fax extensions setup in the system nor do I have any fax machines on the phone system (we use eFaxing) but we are getting a fax tone when calling into the Voicemail system remotely. It seems to happen if you call the system, do your business and hang up and then call it right back...

Can't get Out Calling to work

Yes, thank you. It is working. The advantage (obviously) of these component-based systems is the amount of flexibility you have, unfortunately it also means you have a bazillion (a real number, and I counted) different things you have to make sure are working together correctly. I was used to...

Can't get Out Calling to work

TTT/Merlinman, Ok, I found where to unrestrict the ports/extensions and that is done. I removed port 37 (last VM port, correct?) from the DisallowTo list 7 (did not see anything in the Disallow list?) and set Rotary Enable for 37. ROCK 'N ROLL! Thanks guys!

Can't get Out Calling to work

Hi TTT: I unrestricted the VM ports (26-37) in Sys Programming under Extensions->ARS Restrictions and set their FRL to 3. I'm assuming that's all I do to unrestrict them. Ports 26-37 (VM ports) are Rotary Enabled. I'm in PBX mode and have to dial 9 to get an outside line. Still no go. Do...
