He has permisions to send as fineand can happily send emails from said account.
The problem is - he says he used to be able to select the data folder of the exchange account in outlook, cick on new email and it knew which account he was sending from. Without him having to select from.
I think...
Is there anyway to just select another users mailbox and either right click and new email or click on new email button and have it know that you are trying to send from that user?
- outlook 2007, Exchange accounts, user has full access and send permissions from second account. mail goes into a...
If you can download anything then try using this to download your updates.
http://www.vulnerabilityassessment.co.uk/ctupdate.htm
It downloads them all for the OS that you want and creates an iso for you to burn onto cd. you then run the cd on your new laptop and it will find( pretty much) all...

having recently done my MCSA in 2K, i thought i'd let you know that MS are planning on doing away with MCSE/MCSA to be replaced by the new MCIPT.
They say you can upgrade your MCSA/MCSE 2003 to the new cert with ease. However you cant upgrade to the new cert from MCSA/MCSE 2000, and...
take a look at this link and see if it helps. I've used some of their guides to help troubleshoot shutdown before.
http://www.aumha.org/win5/a/shtdwnxp.php
however if you can't find what you want there i agree starting at msconfig and a safeboot is the best place to start.
N.B. I have also...

please start your own thread, and you will probably get a better response.
but by the way it appears you have more than one Antivirus running.
Jazzdrive,
when you have booted up, logged in and everything is running, right click on the taskbar and select task manager.
when on task manager goto the processes tab. At the bottom of this tab it will tell you how many processes are working. Id say on average youd have somewhere between 26-40...
Are you on a domain?
what rights do you have ie are you an admin or a power user or normal user?
If its on a domain, then it could be conflicting group policies causeing the freeze, which would be down to whoever admins the site. But thats just a guess, as you might not have any set.

yeah - what he said!!!! We are Only here trying to help....
........and as any good techie will tell you if you don't understand something go look it up study and learn. That way you will be able to come back and say patching/updating the pc won't fix this problem because....
it will show up with either a yellow exclamation mark or a red X.
then double click on them to see what service has failed. as there's likely to be one when it is trying to shut down.
AS jazzdrive3 said make sure it is upto date with all patches and updates.
if you have a network connection...
No not paranoid, i use AVG Antivirus, AVG Antispyware, AVG Rootkit Revealer, Bazooka, Adaware, Spybot sd, Hijackthis, Asquared, zonealarm (may change to kerio soon tho), not to mention a few firewall testers as well.
mostly tho i use AVG AV, Adaware, and ASquared on a periodic scan, and...
if you try CCleaner it has an uninstallation utility but i'm not so sure how good it is. I do know that IOLO System Mechanic 5 has an excellent one, but system mechanic isn't free.
Lee james - forgot about CCleaner, i agree also with AVG, as i use it at home, and it doesn't use up too much of the system resources.
would def reccommend taking a look at Asquared though as it finds a lot more spyware etc than adaware and spybot put together.
For starters have a look at the event viewer log and compare both the apps and the system logs with a pc that shutsdown just fine.
(To get to event viewer go start run type without the quotes"eventvwr" and enter.)
Anti spyware tools i would reccommend - Adaware, Spybot SD, Asquared - all free tools from reputable people/companies.
or you could look at buying - xoftspy, webroot spysweeper.
It all depends on what tools you were using, whether they were up to date or not including Antivirus and Windows.
A...
Norton is good, however there are a lott of alternatives out there, but they meen didilly squat if you don't update regularly - i recommend once a day. In the old days it used to be once a month but that was because there was only new viruses coming out once a month. Then it went to once per...
