9940A It looks like just bad tapes. Only 3 bad out of a couple hundred. Delivery guy dropped the box or something... Thanks. -

Hi. I have a Storagetek 9940 Drive. I just got a new batch of tapes and I am getting this error on some of them. "load 3954" I thought it might have been a formatting problem (or "re-conditioned" tapes) so I ran "make data tape" which gave me this error. "chk A724" Can someone give me an... -

We plan to overwrite the tapes anyway, so setting the drive to "make data tape" worked great. Again, much thanks. -

I have an A drive, so Ill bet those tapes were initialized on a B. That would explain it. Thanks for the help! -

Hi. One batch of tapes gives this error on every load: "LOAD 37A2" I figure its some type of media error but I was hoping someone with a manual could give me a more specific answer. Thanks in advance!!!
