Deriving a usable drive image from DriveImage XML

Thanks BadBigBen. I've read the stuff, but I'm too ignorant to understand exactly what I need to do. Not unintelligent, just ignorant. At the moment my friend now has a directory on his computer containing the DriveImage backup, consisting of one XML file and a number of .dat files. When he...

Deriving a usable drive image from DriveImage XML

I've backed up a friend's XP system boot drive C using DriveImage XML 2.0.2. (www.runtime.org/dixml.htm). The reason for doing this is that he is concerned about losing a macroed Access-based program that he cannot replace, although its data is safely backed up. For want of a better place, I've...

Router assignes variable address to wireless printer

tlcscousin - that was brilliant! It works (so far...). So thank you very much - a far simpler and more straightforward solution than others I've seen on the web. So straightforward that..d'oh! You're evidently a good bloke to know... Best David

Router assignes variable address to wireless printer

Mmmm...Thanks tlcscousin. I chose to exit. I'm afraid I'd need the ramifications explained to me before...

Router assignes variable address to wireless printer

I have a Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO ADSL2 router and an HP Officejet Pro L7780 wireless printer, running Vista SP1 Business - but I imagine the issue is common enough with different combos and OS. Documents often do not print because the printer has been assigned, say, address 192.168.2.2...

Getting my Bluetooth by HP (Widcomm) working again

Since I bought an HP Compaq nx5000 laptop a few years ago I've had a pretty useful Bluetooth driver.A few months ago I thoughtlessly downloaded some 'recommended' software from Microsoft Update - which appears to have installed a Windows Bluetooth driver 'and/or' something from 'Darfon'. It does...

    Installation Error - QuickTime

No - it doesn't work for me - because my computer is completely clean of Quicktime -including quicktime.msi in that location. In fact I deduce that Apple have modified their installation program slightly, in that I am no longer getting those 2 (1714 and 1603) pesky numbered error messages - now...

    Installation Error - QuickTime

I've had a similar problem. I've used Karen's Registry Ripper, Regcleaner and CCleaner, as well as going manually through the registry with regedit, and deleting all references to Apple (being careful to avoid applets) and to QuickTime and to Quick Time. Nothing works, despite taking my life...
