I'm back in.
I had to login from the other vlan (the public vlan) and change the no shutdown back to vlan1. It seems level 2 switches, can have only have one vlan administativaly up at a time.

I noticed this on another which and went in an changed it for vlan 2. I loss the connection and now I can't ping it. After some research, I learned that the switch is a c2950/level 2 switch and can have only one vlan admin up at a time. How do I get back it in?

We use dfs shares. We use them on our WAN to provide access to user profiles per site. I didn't set this up and don't know a lot about shares. Last year we had trouble with one of our main servers at HQ. As part of the troubleshooting we removed the shares from this server (server2). This fixed...
Got it! I was working on stomething else and lost my connection. Logged back in and try again, wr mem. It worked.
I tryed the same thing, config t, int F0/14, no shut, with some of the ports that keep going down, but it didn't work. Am I doing something wrong? Does it work on ports?

Thanks, or that was easy enough. But when I when to copy it to the start-config, I get this.
11-Switch-1#copy run-config start-config
Destination filename [start-config]?

Ok, It's been crazy around here.
I sent you bad info. Info from the router, not the switch that's having the problems. Let's try this again.
11-Switch-1#sh ip int brief
Interface IP-Address OK? Method Status Proto
Vlan1 10.3.50.210 YES...
This is what I get
Password:

50-CoreStack-1#sh ip int brief

Vlan1 10.3.50.1 YES TFTP up up
Vlan2 10.3.11.1 YES TFTP up...
cisco 3750's. Yes they have many ports assigned. What does administratively down mean vs just down? It goes up and down. I'll have to reseach the commands to see if it is administratively down, but I don't thank that's the case. I'll let you know once I get a chance to look it up.

We use wsus for rolling out windows updates and patches. It's set to auto approve. For some reason, xp sp3 is not installing on some of our xp machines. How do I go about trobleshooting this?
Regards,DJ
I'm trying to roll out the new version of Java. Can't seem to figure out how to get the msi file out. Last time I just found the msi file after I installed it on a pc (jre1.6.0_07.msi) and used the msi to roll it out. How ever with update 12, I can't find the msi file.
We have all Windows XP...
I know ya'll are starting think I've got to be crazy. But it is clear as mud.... Ok, you say uninstall DNS.... do you mean delete the server I demoted and then delete it from all the entries that list the demoted server in intergraded DNS from the other servers? Or am I missing something...
When you say make sure none of the dc's are pointing their DNS to that demoted server? I don't quite follow you. Which records in DNS do I need to delete or change? There are so many under each server. Do I need to through and delete all instances of the demoted server? It just seems like there...
If you sit it up to pull there desktop from the server, you can use GP to control there desktop. Check out folder redirection in the MMC. We use it for our public profiles and for our staff profiles, that are used by multiple users.
Hope this helps,
DJ
