Thank you VinceWhirlwind, My problem was that the device I was trying to contact in the .9.0/24 subnet did not have a route set that would allow it to return packets to the 8.0/24 subnet. After defining a route to 192.168.8.0/24 via 192.168.9.1 in the device it works as expected. Once again... -
