Thanks for the help! I kept getting different error messages and finally gave up after working on the dumb thing all day :( I just threw the motherboard away and kept the other stuff just in case someone else ever needed them.

I changed 3 floppy drives and also the cables and the floppy light is coming on when i have the windows 98 start up disk in. When the computer boots up it shows the hard drive, but in the bios under detect hard drive it isn't detecting it.

what I am getting is it says Floppy Disk/s fail (40) CMOS CHECKSUM ERROR DEFAULT LOADED

My friend hasn't had time until now and says he doesn't know what the adminstrative password is so the os can recognize the hard drive. Would anyone know what it might be or what else he can do?

Thank you, but Tony had already given me the link. The thing is I don't see anything that says it is compatible with those Dual Core CPU's and that's why I asked, before I buy the dual core one.

My friend has a ASUSTeK Computer INC. A7N8X REV 1.xx and installed his hard drive which I believe he said is a 160 Gig, but the computer won't boot up with it, it just keeps restarting. Does anyone know why? or what he can do so he can use his hard drive, since most of his stuff is on it!

After reading up on memory this is what I can tell you. DDR2 800 is (PC2 6400) where as DDR2 533 is (PC2 4200) so it won't work.
