Since you mentioned it, can I just delete the printer from Printers and Faxes directory, since deleting the printer does not remove drivers, so things will still work?
Let me see if I understand.
Let's say I am User1 and my machine name is PC1.
I have an HP 2100 locally on my PC.
You load the HP 2100 Drivers on the terminal server because I need to print locally from my Terminal Server Session.
So I log onto a TS Session. I go to Start-Settings-Printers...
Hmm I was incorrect about seeing it from other's users sessions BUT they still see all the Printers for which drivers were installed from.
i.e. If I install drivers for an HP Laser Jet 2100 on a TS Port (so that User A with HP 2100 on Win2000 connects, Terminal Server will have drivers ready...
Hi, we have about 25 users logging into Terminal Services at various times throughout business hours. Most of the printers they are using locallly, I had to install drivers for in order for Windows 2003 to recognize them. The problem now is that when they go to File > Print, it shows a dozen...
Hi guys, I have a situation where there is a couple of Printronix (Model# P5214) printers in a different company location then where our servers are. These people connect to us through Remote Desktop into Terminal Servers. Usually, as long as the printer driver is installed on the Server...
I am just going to start>run>mmc
Add Security Template
New template --- "test1"
editing the configurations
then...
Going to another machine... opening up gpedit.msc
In Computer Configurations > Windows Settings > Security Settings
Right clicking on SS and Import Policy and selecting "test1.inf"...
Hmm ok let me see if I get this right,
If i choose to skip creating a new one and just edit the (default) predefined security configurations, can I then just:
1. Copy everything from \Windows\System32\GroupPolicy folder
2. Copy this folder to other machines (overwriting obviosuly)
3. Then on...
Hello all,
I am editing local security policies here and would prefer not to edit each machine manually. How do I edit (gpedit.msc) and then export the policy, copy it, and then import it to other machines? I notice it has an Export option in the Actions menu but that exports only to a text...
Hello all, our company has outsourced email hosting to a company thats running an Exchange 2003 server for us. How much access do they really have to all of our emails (i.e. is there any encryption at all in those emails or is it all in the open?). The reason I ask is because we chose to buy an...
Ah, I know i'm late on this but I just setup;
Veritas BackupExec for our 3 servers (tape drive) and Red Boomerang for Off site backup (done weekly)...
before this we used ntbackup and it worked flawlessly (until we had too many jobs scheduled and then errors came)... but its free and efficient...
Ok well I figured out what the problem is...
I disabled Administrator account on the server and I guess BCKUPEXEC was using Administrator credentials. The problem is, I went into Services and changed the Log on info but still cannot start the Backup Exec Job Engine... :(
Since the Terminal server replicates the Domain controller, I just realized that I cannot create a GPO based on "Computer Configurations" because when I do edit the computer config part it says [dc.mydomain.com] instead of [ts.mydomain.com]. I am guessing this is because the TS is set as the...
Friday night, we installed an off site backup called Red Boomerang, this morning I came in and checked BackupExec and all of a sudden "the service is not installed or is not running" error comes up and I cannot Start or Restart the service. Anyone else have compatibility issues?
We use OfficeScan from Trend Micro at the office (50 users). Very affordable (about $35 per license) and best thing is it has all in one suite; antivirus, firewall, spyware protection.
I am not opening any ports on the hardware/router firewall but I would have to for the network software firewall? I am guessing that I need to open an individual port for each client, say 5900, 5901, etc etc?
