We are needing some administrative help with this Avaya server that analyzes both of our ethernet links between sites and selects the best one to use for call control, voip, etc. We are getting ready to disconnect one of the links, and need to know how to force all of the traffic over to the...
Hi, Todd. You have just encountered one of the most difficult problems to diagnose (and fix) in the TDM world. But, let me throw out some ideas for you to consider. You are correct that the Telco can have some bad "coils" in the line that will definitely cause the hum you are experiencing...
setting the "active station ringing" field on page #2 of the station form to "continuous" should have given you what you wanted. How many line appearances does the station have? If it has only two, you will have to unrestrict the last line appearance so it can receive calls. If it has the...
Hi colec12, to find your toll free numbers, leftyx is correct, usually your phone bill will list them, even if they have no calls. As far as configuring them in the Avaya, toll free numbers terminate into the Avaya by way of a (usually) 4-digit number called a DNIS. This DNIS number has to be...
Ed, I have had success with a product from Starkey called a "hearset". It is customized to each user by their own hearing specialist, so it accommodates their individual needs. It replaces their hearing aid while they are on the phone, so no interference. It plugs in to the headset port, or uses...
Yes, the public/unknown numbering table is populated with information on trunk group 11:

I appreciate the feedback (and the good laugh) you both provided. However, my case is a little different. Only calls passed from the MM to the CM get tagged with all 0's, the incoming call registers in the CM with a correct 10-digit ANI. But if the call goes to a caller application in MM for...
We have a new MM 5.2 integrated to our CM 4.0 via SIP trunks with SES 5.2.1.0. We are getting reports that the display on a telephone shows "call from 000-000-0000" when the user receives a call transferred from MM. Even though the system is brand new, and we never had the issue with out...
Phoneguy55 is correct, your LEC can help you get this corrected. The information provided to E911 comes from 2 different databases, ANI and ALI. These 2 separate pieces of information are "married" when your call is answered by the 911 operator, so they can tell who you are (ANI) and where you...
I am trying to update the firmware on my digital phones, but having trouble setting up my tftp server. On this form, the Local Node Name has to be a C-Lan (TN799) card, but what can function as the TFTP server? I've tried everything, but nothing works. I have the firmware files uploaded to...
FYI, we had some issues with using this feature to the point that I had to disable it until we could sort things out. The feature operates a little differently from version to version. Two things to check if you are not the one who initially administered the feature are 1)list usage button-type...
In most cases, 800 numbers have to go out over local trunks, and not long distance trunks. It sounds like your dialer is connected directly to the PSTN because you are not required to dial an access code (9), and the trunks might be AT&T long distance trunks because you also are not required to...
I am trying to learn something here, but my limited experience with IP Telephony is creating a problem. My 4621sw phone was switched to a new physical ip address this morning. When I tried to configure it for the new location, I am confused with the terminology being used. What is the call...
You'll either have to do it with remote access like Textron68 said, or just remove the station and readminister it. Heck of a thing to get stuck with on a holiday weekend...

Why does the light always have to be at the end of the tunnel?
Do you have a Call Forward button on that set? Is it lit? Can you extinguish it by pressing it?
Wait a minute, I didn't think you could call forward an attendant console. How did you do that?
Mike
Why does the light always have to be at the end of the tunnel?
1. Do a "List Call-forwarding" to confirm the extension is still forwarded. My hunch is that you have send-calls activated.
2. Do a "Status station XXXX" to confirm if forwarding or send calls is active.
3. Remove the extension and recreate it as a last ditch effort.
Good luck.

Many thanks, Uzumaki. We've been struggling with this since we converted to EAS with the 5 digit phone extension and 4 digit Agent ID. This will certainly improve our productivity not having to constantly remember to update the Message Lamp field on the phones. Have a good evening.

That was it! Clearing that parameter fixed the problem. THANKS!! How did you know that's what it was?

IMHO 21 to 30 days is actually pretty good lead time. The only way I know to get it quicker is to find a small, independant CLEC that really wants to earn your business. Good luck.

I have a copy of the Intuity R5 documentation from the CD-ROM on my laptop, but I'm not sure how the best way to get it to you. It does reference some maintenance procedures, so it may be what you are looking for, I don't know. I don't have any direct experience with replacing a drive, but I...
