Error 41 Unknown Document Conversion Error

I have a LES971 and recently the drive containing our index and dataflow folders run into a disk space issue which affected caused livelink's search and indexing to fail. Upon resolving the disk space issue we restarted the indexing and search engine. The ability to search resumed however...

Federating Livelink Search Results from 2 Livelink Instances

Hi thanks for your reply =) I did a quick look at the html form. I'm not sure if I understand this correctly, it submits the form to one single livelink instance. What happens if I need to submit to two instances and federate the results from both? Can I work on this html to do that? Before we...

Federating Livelink Search Results from 2 Livelink Instances

Hi, We have 2 sets of data that needs to be deployed separately into 2 LES9.7.1 instances. However, is there a way for users to search from one instance and get results from both in a single webfront? Regards Hoon Song

    Unknown Document Conversion Error 260

I have been guided to a document on how to configure virus scan for content servers. Thought I might share it here for those who have access to the KB. The EFS can still be scanned but with some configurations changes https://knowledge.opentext.com/knowledge/cs.dll/open/4039549 A quote from...

    Unknown Document Conversion Error 260

Thanks for your reply. Really appreciate your technical advice. I will leave the AV running for the EFS. We have been monitoring the indexing process the last couple days and noticed that the update distributor and indexing engine coughs up errors whenever backup is taking place. Is there a way...

    Unknown Document Conversion Error 260

Yes indeed previously we wanted to kill the indexing at the source because the requirement hasn't been properly scoped out, now that it has and the necessary resources allocated we are following up on it. We have managed to purge and re-index the ecm over the weekend and it seems to be working...

    Unknown Document Conversion Error 260

A downtime can be arranged for the re-indexing but of course the shorter the period the better. Do you think re-extracting the source will purge the data flow (and maybe removing whatever that is causing the error) and kickstart the indexing processing from where it left off?

    Unknown Document Conversion Error 260

Thanks for your reply. The dataflow directory is only 100MB and the index directory is only 700MB. So there are no message file above 2GB. And there i did a recursive directory listing and couldn't find one that starts with '214' that indicates a start of a rollback transaction (though I did...

    Unknown Document Conversion Error 260

Hi, I am getting the above error. And restarting the DCS process does not help. After setting the log level to 4 the dcs log file reveals the following: Successfully written entries:7 Start Commit Transaction Failed to commit shared IPool [260] Start Rollback transaction Failed to rollback...

Drag and Drop Files into WebDAV do not obey Storage Rule " Category name is ? "

Hi, In our setup, whenever a file is being uploaded into a folder it will inherit its category and be put in the corresponding storage provider assigned to the category via the rule "Category name is <Category Name>". This works for Explorer and the traditional file upload. However if I am...

Recommended no. of files in my LES971 Setup

Hi, I am running LES971 with an Oracle Database on EFS. Management intends to put in a substantial no of Outlook .msg (1.7 million emails, 25GB) in it. I am concerned about the 1.7 million emails, I'm not sure whether after adding it in will cause significant load on the DB and result in...

Livelink File Upload Creation Date is Wrong

Hi, Sorry for the late follow-up. We have tried running the following query on our Oracle DB. http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/functions172.htm And it shows that the Oracle DB timing is the same as the host's OS. So right now we have no idea where Livelink is getting its...

Livelink File Upload Creation Date is Wrong

Hi, Thanks for your reply. But my DB's host server time is already the same as my LES971 host server time. Both hosts are W2K3. Hoon Song

Livelink File Upload Creation Date is Wrong

Hi, I'm running a LES971 in Win2003. Under the LES971 admin page it is able to display the time correctly as my Win2003 server. However whenever I upload a file or create a folder, I notice its creation date is consistently 10 mins faster than the current time displayed in LES971 admin page...

Disabling Indexing and Deleting the Index/iPool

Thanks for your reply. Currently I have access to neither the KB or Open Text Account Managers. But I do have the standard LES971 installation guide, user & administrator online help and a "Advanced_Indexing_and_Searching_Guide_for_Livelink_9.5,_9.5_SP1,_9.5.5,_and_9.6.pdf". None states the...

Disabling Indexing and Deleting the Index/iPool

Thanks for the reply =) I know it sounds odd to switch off search and indexing but the scope of the project does not include that thus no resources are allocated to it. It is possible in the future there will be a requirement and appropriate resources will be allocated but currently I do not...

Disabling Indexing and Deleting the Index/iPool

Hi, I am currently running LES971 purely as a storage for users & systems to upload documents via the fontend & LAPI respectively. Thus no livelink indexing or search is required. I have created the enterprise index during installation but have left none of the processes under "System Object...

    Problem Mass Deleting Files

Thanks. Using LAPI to delete seems to be the easiest way to do it. However it does slow down the server to the extend usr experience on the webfront is affected (logging in and browsing folders takes especially longer till they get a CGI timeout). Any way around it? Can I increase the no. of...

    Problem Mass Deleting Files

Since my installation is running quite slowly and I am suspecting the bottleneck is at the database, I am thinking about running level 1 to 5 diagnostic Oracle Server Maintenance Tasks... but I have the following concerns: 1. I am afraid that it might slow the system too much and if it does...

    Problem Mass Deleting Files

Thanks for relying. All the files I want to delete are within a single folder. Is it recommended to configure an indefinite timeout and try to delete that single folder. Hope it does run out of memory of anything. With regards to using LAPI, does using Explorer equate to using LAPI? I tried...
