I've actually tried changing the port for the LDAP connector on the 5.5 server as stated in the article, but with no luck.
The connection agreements are pointed to the 5.5 server now and they work (this was setup during the initial phases of the install), however the instructions in the...
I'm about half done with my EXCH5.5 to EXCH03 migration and I'm running into a very annoying problem.
One is Error C103aa1d (when I try to move my connection agreements), and the other is Error 8007230 LDAP No Such Object (when I try to make changes to the properties of the new server).
Just...
OK- I'm 75% done with my 5.5 to 2003 setup and I have a question:
It wants me to switch the connection agreements to the new server, which I know how to do, but my question is what will this do to my current 5.5 environment?
Will this stop all mail delivery?
Will I be able to migrate...
I have a question regarding my pending Exchange 2007 migration.
I have a client that requires that any emails sent to them be encrypted. My question is: how do we implement this company wide?
I know that we will need a SSL cert for our OWA access, will this cert also work for encrytping...
We are in the process of upgrading from 5.5 to 2007, but we have an audit coming up before we could have the migration completed.
Is there a way with Exchange 5.5 to implement encryption on emails being sent to a single domain name?
Thanks-
One of the things that is very frustrating to me is that from what I read there is no way to have both the 5.5 server as well as the 2007 server active on the same domain concurrently. If this was a functionality then it would make my migration very simple.
I would like to be able to...
I have a complicated situation that I'd like some advice on from those of you who have done this before. I know Exchange 2003 fairly well, but I'm no expert.
My current environment is Exchange 5.5 with AD 2003. We would like to migrate to Exchange 2007 however most of you know how challenging...
Thanks Jim-
I found a document that had some codes, but I'm thinking I'm going to have to hire someone to do this for me.
I'm trying to find a way to take over a call on a different extension using a SA button. I haven't found a feature code that will allow me to do it yet, or that I can get...
Good Morning All-
I learned how to program an SA button yesterday to do autodial when pressed, but I'm looking for a list of other codes I can use for SA buttons. Anyone have any good info?
Thanks in advance-
J
Right- the SA button is what we are going with. I'm waiting for my service company to send me the instructions on how to program the button.
Also, just to be a little more clear, the modem is dialing a voice call through the application.
Thanks to everyone for your help!
Thanks Jim-
I'm more or less just wanting to know if it's possible to do through Merlin. I am using a MFM attached to the phone by the way. I just want to make sure that the line can be picked from the handset before I ask my service company to come out and make the changes.
Thanks for the...
I have a strange problem that maybe someone can shed some light on for me.
I have an application that uses an auto dialer connected to a modem to dial a number. We have the daughter cards installed into the desk phones for the modem line.
I can initiate a call through the modem which uses a...
I have an issue where some of my XP workstations are unable to update to the correct time. I know we have time servers here and found that we have 3 different sources that supply time services.
My question is this- How many time sources should I have running on the network, and with more than...
Good Morning All-
I've inherited a DPM Server from a previous administrator and I'm having some issues with tape management.
I can run the reports that show tapes that are ready for off-site, and tapes that are due online in the next week, but I'm having issues understanding what all of this...
Good Morning All-
I've been hearing complaints from my VPN users that the connection speeds are unstable.
I was watching my connection monitor last night and noticed that with only 8 users connected to VPN there were almost 130 connections to my Exchange Server from VPN users.
I did some...
Ok- I found those events and I'm a little confused on how this works.
I understand that the database will shrink in size, but the file size will remain the same, but how does that relate to what event viewer is showing me?
The 1221 event shows "The Database "First Storage Group/Mailbox store...
I was looking at the size of my Exchange backups and I'm close to 80GB with only ~60 users.
I found that my public folders are close to 27GB, which is part of the problem I'm sure, but that's another issue on how to manage that.
I've seen some links on how to "defrag" the exchange...
Thanks for the help- makes perfect sense now. I'm new to Exchange, but I'm learning a little more with every issue I run into like this.
What's the best method to lock this down? I've looked at some MS documents and it doesn't look like a terribly easy thing to do.
