khayulay, yes it worked fine. The VPNremote software seems to be completely independent of the rest of the phone operations, so I think its pretty transparent to what it connects once the VPN network is up. Yeah I guess Avaya doesn't support this, my Tier 3 Avaya IP Office guy didn't even know...
Yes its 127 total characters per list, this is with 46xx phones. So the option string could be:
MCIPADD={LIST},MCPORT=yyyy,TFTPDIR=<path>,TFTPSRVR={LIST}
where LIST is 127 characters.
I'm not aware of a limit for the whole option string within DHCP servers, but I guess there is an IETF...
Requirements is a 46xx SW IP series phone and an Avaya Security Gateway. The phone establishes a VPN by itself, and then connects to an H323 Gateway, like the IP Office or a CLAN in Comm Manager architecture. The download page is...
I've tested this for a few days with Comm Manager and IP Office and haven't had phones dying or any other problems. I'll have an IP Office client with a few of them soon so we'll see how it does in the real world.
FYI, I just tried this out. Works brilliantly! Both with Avaya Communication Manager and with IP Office. This is so nice and practical :D Gonna see if it works with other IPSec VPN firewalls.
And no, Cisco does not have anything like this.
The IP Phones need a look at a TFTP server to see if they need upgrade, if they see new files, they will upgrade automatically. With IP Office, you can just expand the files you downloaded from Avaya at the Manager's working directory, then point the file server address on the phone to your...
The one we used is the Max Terminator Disconnect Unit ( http://www.agtprint.com/s58/htmfiles/max.htm ), I think its cost was around $1,000 dollars. It services 12 lines. For smaller jobs, this one might work, but haven't tried it: http://www.broadcastboxes.com/products/CP-2_lit.html
We used the...
Lots of this trouble in Mexico too. Version 3.0.69 fixed much of it, but still trouble on some lines, like those provided by a Net2Phone adapter. We used a disjunctor (sp?) to help cut off the lines, but didn't help. Even manually disconnected the cable and wouldn't detect hang up :/ A...
Good idea, except I would lose the actual queue functionality so that as soon as someone is available, they would get a caller sent to them. As far as I'm concerned, you can't put a queue action in a regular callflow.
The real problem is, the IP Office unit can't detect a hangup from net2phone...
What do you mean globally onsetcomp? Do you want to redirect hundreds of mailboxes to other mailboxes? I think what AirGibson was doing was just an exemption case scenario.
Yes it does work, as you say, if at least one of the stations is ringing; in other words, if it doesn't go to Queueing. If its in queue, then it stays in queue indefinately :( Or at least, thats what happening for me.
The problem with DSL connections is that you need to use PPPoE, and the IP Office units don't support PPPoE. That is why you need to have a small router or something that will give the IP Office the DSL connection through Ethernet, in other words, PPP-less. Then you can enable the VPN however...
On the Leave Mail action, save another Entry Prompt for it, or a tiny wav file of silence. I did your setup and recorded a 0.0 second wav file, and then I get only the user's VM greeting.
Oh.. you are right, i'm sorry, it only works for hunt groups :( I guess the only way would be to research if there is a feature to turn on the lamp (like in definity systems), make it a shortcode and make a voicemail pro flow to dial this shortcode after a message is recorded.
Sometimes firewalls are also picky not only of where the traffic is going, but from which ports. I don't know if this could help you, but the traffic to the 1719 UDP port comes from port 49300 (46xx phones, Phone Manager seems to use a similar range to the 1720 range, possibly 56xx phones too)...
You can add for the user you want the light on, an additional source number so that the message light turns on when the other user gets a message. In User, SourceNumber tab, add V<ext>, or H<ext> for a hunt group (where ext is the extension number). I hope thats what you mean?
Hi,
I have a customer who wants the calls to a queue to only queue for five minutes, then leave a voicemail message. We currently have voicemail pro set up so that the caller gets a menu with either staying on queue or leave a message, but he wants to force the caller to leave a message after...
