you could edit the existing policy by editing the field called number of period from 1 to 10. This should help you globally instead of editing on each client.
1.Just check you have installed the storage node and Client software on the dedicated storage node.

Let me tell what we have,
1. AIX Networker Server
2. We have NDMP POOL and NDMP Tape Drives assigned to the NAS Box
3. The O/S backups are having both windows and Unix go in a different pool as o/s pool on different drives attached to different storage nodes.
Does any one know what is the buffer size or block size for NDMP backup using Networker with LTO-3 Drives ?
And if you can share or provide me a link for the document which says this is the value it will be of great help.
Since I am getting errors like
NDMP: 3: TAPE_WRITE, size(131072) >...

Can you tell me should I need mention the clone storage node attribute for each client ? Or is it okay if I set the clone storage node option only on the storage nodes.
Because we are having around clients.
We are getting Cloning errors like
NON-NDMP media pool of a CDL Tape is getting mounted on a NDMP CDL Drive (both of which are source media)

When I try to do manual backup it gets connected and hangs.
I read some where that 32 hops are supported at the maximum so number of hops is not a problem.

Does any one know that, is there a maximum hop limit in the networker between the client and the server?
I am unable to backup a client across 6 hops between networker and the cient though I am able to ping the client from server and viz.
Thanks in Advance

Any idea what is that i am missing?

Possibilities are
1. Firewall Issue
2. Forward and reverse DNS Lookup check for name resolution
3. Ensure Servers file does have the entry of servers name
4. check for rpcinfo -p host name to check nsrexec running
Mostly it is network related issue.
Thank you jlh for giving me some input.
But here the problem is different. I fixed this by adding an entry of
0.0.0.0 xyz.com xyz
in the etc/hosts file on the physical server.
Thanks
Getting Diagnostic: Reverse DNS lookup failed for address 0.0.0.0
For oracle backup but forward and reverse lookup with i/p address and name of that virtual machine is ok.
Can any one give me any idea on this?

Thanks for your reply still I have doubt
what will be the status of todays incremental backup, when yesterday's full backup was stopped or aborted for some reason, whether todays incremental will refer to yesterdays bad full backup or will it refer to the previous good full back up?
