PHV.. I have it seems ok, and worked from root but in VSIFAX says it come from 'taras' (it says this even when faxing streight from UNIX) but when anyone else uses it, it doesnt seem to work...
there are 50 user licenses with VSIFAX and the users are added into the acceptance list to fax in VSIFAX.

the way our software faxes is you send it to a printer but the printer config in our software actually passes it to VSIFAX (sorry it was not clear in original post)
and taras is just a standard user both in unix and in VSIFAX...

it is something that works as it has been working in th past, it seemed to just stop working one day.
to be honest im not fully understood on the setup, i was originaly under the impression that it was the live server sending the faxes to the backup server that...
while using VSIFAX i am logged in as root but when i send anything it is saying it has come from the user taras ??
where would i be looking for this kind of setting... also when trying to print as anyone else its not working at all?

From what i have looked at, i would say it is... when we choose printers we just need to make sure they are PCL compliant and use those codes...
have you checked that you can see the share from the UNIX machine?
cd /usr/local/samba/bin
smbclient -L <PC Name>
on the PC turn off firewall

Having a lot of problems with VSIFax these days...
one of my customers has rung up saying that when they try and use vsifax it is coming up with an error
duplicate Keys...
and no VSI commands are working...
they have two systems running and only one has stopped so they can still work but...
and moto slide has it... this is exactly what is happening and found out last night that the <fax number> was retreived from some Easydata, that wasnt getting populated... D'oh!
if you know about VSIFAX tho please check my next thread as i have another issue...

one of our customers is having problems faxing from Unix OpenServer 5.0.5 from within our software...
From UNIX comand line i can do
vfx -n 01772123456 /etc/hosts
and i will get a copy of the hosts file faxed to me.

If you have notice my thread i too am having problems with 64bit drivers for a Zebra printer (completely different printer i know) Im guessing that people writing these 64bit drivers arnt testing them...

I have called Zebra and they imediatly said it must be the print server. To which i replyed it works on the print server from all the machines running your universal 32bit drivers. They then gave me some drivers made by other (Nice drivers i think one was called) they didnt...

it could be the hardware... if your GPU chip has a Heatsink and a fan, the fan might of stopped... and normal mode pushes it to heat more than safe mode. i had the same problem and this was the cause, but i could tell it was the fan streight off due to the funky noise it was making...
