changing from co6 to co1 when pressing 9 for an outside line

I have two issues with a panasonic kx-tes824.
Firstly the box has 6 CO ports, i need to press the number 6 for an outside line, can this be changed so i press number 1 instead. Secondly i cannot get the extentions to ring each other. When i try to dial the lounge from the kitchen i can hear the phone ringing on my end but not in the...- pauljervis1
