Hi List,
I have a 515e failover pair which I have been tasked to manage. I'm wondering how I go about modifying the configuration.
Do I only have to modify one of the firewalls, or both separately?
Hi List,
I am designing a VRRP solution for a WAN Gateway at multiple branch office locations. Each location has a router which will provide gateway access to the WAN for 2 different interfaces.
However we would also like to fail over the WAN, as it's IP address must be accessible from all...
Its a bit like this:
All interface IP addresses are private, the default gateway points across a WAN to another lot of private ranges, but we have contractors I who have static routes for which i point to the inside of the firewall for their response traffic.
However there are two ways into the...
Hi all,
I have a routing table set up on a router with multiple interfaces and using static routing.
I have one interface which goes out to the internet via a firewall.
We have a default route pointing out an internal interface that does not access the internet.
What I am trying to achieve is...
Hi List,
I have a question on VRRP. HSRP is also an option.
We are using static routing on our gateway routers.
I'm wondering if we implement VRRP, then how will configuration and router management be done?
When I add a new route, or reconfigure a port, which is quite common, then will this...
Hi List,
We have a 2800 router with SVI interfaces. We are using two of the HWIC SVI interfaces to access an MPLS network in trunk mode. The trouble is that BPUS are traversing from one VLAN+fa0/0/0 trunk to another VLAN+fa0/0/0 trunk.
We have discovered that BPDUs are crossing from one part...
I'm not a big fan of the HWIC 2811's we had a second 9 port HWIC put in and discovered that in order for it to work we had to patch a cable from the first HWIC into the same router to the second HWIC!
Hi List,
I have moved a cable on a 2811 to a router interface form an HWIC in order to enable some QoS. The has improved considerably since I have applied the following:
policy map TC
class class-default
shape average 1000000
fair-queue
interface fa0/0
service-policy output TC
I can see...
I'll give it a try.
What I have currently is:
policy-map TEST
class class-default
shape average 1000000
fair-queue
interface vlan 101
service-policy output TEST
this works fine on the 2800 series L3 interface but not on a L2 SVI assigned to a VLAN with IP address.
It cannot be assigned as...
yes, can apply outbound with Police to drop on action-exceed, but does not work with Shape 1000000, fair-queue,
this policy when applied outbound only works when applied on a L3 router interface and not an HWIC SVI. So it is pointless really as it is already being Policed to drop on exceed at...
Hi,
I've tried this, as this was the first test, and it applies and works on a router interface, but not a VLAN interface which an HWIC L2 interface must be assigned in order to apply an IP address.
Hi List,
I've got a Cisco 2811 with an HWIC connected to a new MPLS WAN. However we are getting sporadic traffic patterns and large traffic drops at the service provider due to the MPLS Policing traffic over 1Mbit to drop.
I need to apply some sort of QoS in order to get consistent traffic...
I agree, I have seen these statements used with HWIC interfaces which are assigned to a VLAN.
The VLAN is the exit interface, but again I haven't seen both that with the dest. ip addr either.
Though it wouldn't surprise me if this syntax is also usable.
- There are not overlapping routes
- No routing done by ISP, it is an ethernet plug into a cloud.
The only explanation I have for it is a bug in the IOS or a cosmic ray has come down and flipped a bit in the memory.
Router has not been rebooted in almost 6 months. But I would prefer not to use...
1) Yep thats a typo Ive corrected myself on.
fa0/1 goes out onto a WAN cloud which has an IP of 192.168.204.254. This router is the central hub.
The other hops/routers on this subnet are at various branch office router locations.
.246 traces and pings fine. Whats interesting is that when the...
Errata on my post:
This works to 10.53.8.1:
S 10.53.8.1/32 [1/0] via 192.168.204.246
But this sends packets to 192.168.204.248:
S 10.53.8.0/24 [1/0] via 192.168.204.246
Whats going on?
Hi,
I have the following static routing set up on a Cisco router.
I am trying to route to the 10.53.8.0 subnet which should have a next hop of 192.168.201.246, however traceroute always shows it's next hop going to 192.168.201.248.
Everything else is connected and working fine on the...
