Hi, I've been using CA ARCserve from recently, and I'm not sure how to do the following:
I've created Media Pool containing two tapes with the same media name, retention time is 14 days. The idea is that on one tape is to be written as long as there is free space (estimated three to four weeks)...
Is there any catch?
I tried restoring one of the clients on virtual machine. After completing restore of c: and system object (registry first), i did reboot, and it worked, but on later restart the client crushed. There was message that c:\WINNT\system32\ntoskrnl.exe is missing or corrupted...
Since I had no answer, and no idea what else to do, I deleted all filespaces of that client, removed client node, and than register it again under same name. After that, I made some new archives, and I am now able to see them.
But, ofcourse, my old archives are lost, which luckilly for this...
I have problem with one client, I cannot see his archives anymore. Checking occupancy, I can see that archive filespace exists, and how many files it has and how many space it occupies. When I make an archive of that client, process of creating an archive ends succesfully, and when I check...
I want to create client schedule that will once a month archive drive C:, all folders, subfolders and files. What should I write in Objects field?
I tried "c:", than "c:*", also "c:\*", but only files in root directory are archived.
Also I tried "c:\...\*" but it didn't work, dsmsched.log says...
Versions exists 2, version deleted 1. I repeat, I backup also all local drives, and for them expiration process deletes old versions as it should. Why doesn't it work for system object, concerning they are all under same management class (there is only one, in fact)?
Yes, I'm running TSM on Windows.
But, problem solved itself. The backup destination (which is also PC machine on Windows)had to be restarted because of some problems with some other product (had happened before, so not related with TSM). And now backup works(so i'm gonna put the blame on Windows).
I configured few TSM servers to perform scheduled backup of their TSM databases, and it works ok. Recently I added another server, with backup destination same as of the others, but that backup always fails. In activity log I get messages:
ANR1404W Scratch volume mount request denied - mount...
I'm new, and I'm also a blond, so don't be too hard on me if this question is something of common knowledge.
In my management class I defined to keep 2 versions of backup. I backup all drives and system objects, but expiration process does not delete old versions of system objects. What could be...
