I found the Microsoft 5061A Course Book to be pretty helpful in my installation. However I had already installed and set up the MOSS 2007 before I took the course. Thankfully I had found enough help beforehand that I did not have to redo the whole thing. It gave me the steps to implementing the...
That is precisely what Microsoft intends with MOSS 2007 Content Management. Using Document Libraries, Picture Libraries, Form libraries, and Wiki page libraries combined (or not) with Workflow (several types available).
Microsoft is wanting to veer away from the traditional 'mapped drive' and...
Infopath Forms Services is contained in Microsoft Office SharePoint Services 2007 (MOSS 2007), not WSS. WSS is a free download onto Windows Server 2003 (you probably know this) but MOSS 2007 must be purchased. I do not beleive you need to get the Enterprise version of MOSS 2007, however you...
I do not believe that there is an inherent link between the two. Project Web Access and MS Project are made to go together and are a separate product. However if a user does not have PWA and MS Project 2007 is too much for a light project then the Project Workspace is the thing for that type of...
A site which has some information on the SSP.
http://blogs.msdn.com/joelo/archive/2006/10/03/Shared-Service-Providers-_2800_SSPs_2900_-What-Are-They_2E002E002E00_-How-to_2700_s-On-Delegation.aspx
Hopefully that helps. It cleared a few things up for me.
I would not create any more SSP unless...
The answer to this is during the creation of the Web Application, do not use Network Service, specify one of the users you created during the installation of the product.
Otherwise the Excel Web Access does not propagate to the Web App and will not work.

I am sorry but I can't remember for sure. I was going to reload our Project Server anyway, because some users were asking about its loss. I brought it down a while back to do some MOSS 2007 testing. If I can come up with anything helpful I will post it back.

It sounds like a portal site is the way to go. It gives the basic functionality, sets up a lot of other fluff that is good for Intranet (ex. Main Site, News Site, Site and some categories). From there you can create all the sub-sites you need and connect them to the portal site.
If you didn't...
Ah, I see now. What you have there is a 'Team' site which comes from the 'Collaboration' template section. I should ask a quick question. What is the new site meant for? I know you wish to model after the old one, however what is the intention behind the new site? If you want a "Portal" site...
I believe you could have kept the same SSP for your sites, so that may be extra baggage.
If I am keeping up, then you wanted to create a New Web Application (using the original SSP should be fine) called Intranet2. Then from there, create a new Site Collection, and choosing which template you...
I have set up a Project Server and PWA, then used it in conjunction with Project Professional 2007. However I am not sure I understand what you are asking enough to try to answer. What Project Office Workspace are you referring too? One that you can create in MOSS 2007?

I am unable to get the Excel Document to open within a browser on a new web application. It works under the first default web application, but not yet able to provide that function on any other web applications. I enabled features on all existing sites, just in case. The problem is if I set the...
