I had a random number of records concern last month where I needed 25 random Entry Numbers for the previous month. I also wanted several line level pieces of information from another 1 to many table. My IT gura could only do it for me if I didnt want the line level data, so now I get a...
COGNOS 8.4
In report studio - I have users that enter a site code, which is supposed to be a 5 character, alpha numeric code. They continue to screw this up. I can filter for Length <5, but I need to filter for characters that are not 0-9 or a-z or A-Z.
Any thoughts of how to do this? I see...
I have about 10,000 +/- 400 or so records that get uploaded to my COGNOS DW a month. Then monthly, I have to audit 25 of them, at RANDOM. So what I have been doing is dumping out all 10,000 to Excel, running EzQuant (random number generator) to give me 25 random numbers from 1 -10,000. Then I...
I am a reasonably new user and found a better way, for me anyway, to burst. I had to "burst" a single report three ways. If an Entry number started with ABC, the go here . . . DEF, go there, and GHI, go other places. Instead of bursting, I made a parameter for ENTRY STARTS WITH and now I get...
I run reports every month, for the PREVIOUS month. I always run them between the 9th of the month and the 15th of the month.
Currently I have a prompt for Month Number, but with the number of reports I am beginning to run, I would like to be able to have the date range criteria (filter) be the...
Thanks, I will try that.
I do agree with you that my company needs to bring the table? containing the correct value, but for now, they don't and this is the only solution I have to offer. It is minimal effort for me to do this "inconsistent SPI" report and then forward the output to the proper...
The table containing the correct SPI for that part is not stored in COGNOS. I, personally, don't even know what the SPI is supposed to be for a given part.
And, yes, the brokers are given a table that contains the correct SPI to use, but they constantly fail to use the right one.
All I am...
Blom - this data is all related to things that come through Customs for one of the big 3. If the SPI is defined, usually MX or CA for NAFTA, then the part is Duty Free. If there is no SPI for that part, then there is duty on the part. Our brokers at the border, ASSUMING THEY KNOW WHAT THEY...
I have a report I run and i sort this list by Part number. I have an SPI column next to my part number and all similar part numbers should have the same SPI indicator (usually "MX" but could be a few others . . . so i will just say if "row" 15 is populated at all, and row 16 has the same part...
