AVG 9 on SBS 2003 with Windows XP

I thought even if you use the Exchange part of SBS you still need the SBS version of AVG not the Exchange server version. Something about the wierd interaction of all those different server components on one machine. Have you tried using wireshark or a sniffer program to see what kind of traffic...

    Custom DNS records

So are you saying that you are trying to capture a subdomain of an existing internet domain so it points to a local server? Do you control the parent domain? If you do is the web server internal to your location?

Cannot remote to some Windows 7 clients and server

Instead of disabling the GPO make the GPO turn the firewall off. That way it can stay in effect but not get in the way.

SBS 2003 2 NIC Site to Site VPN

Since you have a router setup for the site to site why not just use only one NIC in the SBS box. Just run all your traffice through the router instead of through the SBS. That way the server just looks like another machine on the network instead of a router/firewall and you'll be able to hit the...

    SBS 2k3 to host website

I agree with ShackDaddy about the DNS issue. If your PCs aren't talking to DNS in the SBS server they won't be able to find the site, unless you adjust each machines host file to which would match up companyweb with your SBS server IP. As for not being able to asscess the page even when you are...

    2003 SBS + another webserver (2008?)

I think you would need 2008 CALs for any users/device that will be accessing the 2008 server directly, no matter what the reason is. If you setup AD to replicate to the 2008 server, since you want to use it as a backup, I don't see were there would be a problem if you move the intranet site to...

Can SBS 2003 R2 run as normal Server 2003

I thought that the coexisting and time limit of 7 days was only if the SBS parts were installed. If you only install the 2003 Server, this should be just like any other 2003 server install considering that is what the first disc is anyway. As long as you activated it before the 21 or 30 days.

SBS 2003 RWW - User account connected as "TEMP" with default profile?

When you normally log on to your desktop, do you have a roaming profile setup? If you go in to My Computer and look under Documents and Settings do you see your actual profile name under there?

AVG 9 on SBS 2003 with Windows XP

This might sounds silly but is the version of AVG you are running on the SBS server the SBS version of AVG? I know when I installed the standard version on my SBS machine with the email scanner installed it caused all kinds of slowness and other issues. I had to remove the email scanner on the...
