    I've never heard of a hard drive corrupting due to being to empty or to full...it simply wont write to the disk. Archive off some stuff you don't need to have at hand all the time

    standalone media player problem

    If you connect the drive and look in computer manager, check to see if the drive is assigned a letter. If you can't do this via your Media PC plug it back into the laptop and use a drive letter that neither machines have.
