Thanks jamie2 for the suggestion. I had to prod the head IT person to get any action on this. Now I have to submit an exception request that has to be reviewed by almost everyone to perhaps get permission to download a trial copy of SecureCRT. Bureaucracy works well.
As far as I can find out there is no such thing in the MCD platform. When you ask Mitel people about OPX, FXO and FXS their eyes get glassy, jaws get slack and some drool. Then they tell you there is no such thing and you are wrong about how what you are doing now works.
Good luck.
Yeah, it's funny. When I got here 17 years ago the old CBX had been in place five years. A status symbol then was a display phone. People liked the voicemail. Later everyone got a display phone, we changed our CO trunks to PRI and bought a magic box to convert calls to T1 and send the caller ID...
LoopyLou - going to the wrong mailbox is because the person who left the leave message has forwarded their Dn to voice mail. Then when the messagee pushes the blinking red light, the system calls the message sender who's phone is forwarded to voice mail. Thus they get connected to someone else's...
Is there a way to disable this choice on the display while a call is ringing? Or make "leave a message" take the caller to the nupoint voicemail box? I get a lot of trouble calls about the message button not working, calling someone or going to someone else's voice mail. Training users to either...
Possibly this should be in the VBScript forum.
Procomm plus has been banished from my workplace. The alternative we have been offered uses VBS for scripting. Guess I will have to learn how to use it.
Most of our scripts consist of one main process using transmit followed by waitfor with an...
I also found that if you create a folder called procomm or whatever you want under libraries/documents/public documents and choose that folder when installing procomm that it solves all the problems with write access to the program files(x86) directory. It probably won't install an icon on the...
Thanks for the words of encouragement LoopyLou. What you say may be true but many hands touch this network daily implementing varoius patches and upgrades. Non of the touchers are phone people. The joys of sharing the network with "THE network
Thanks again everyone. Bobcheese we have nupoint so I will explore that avenue. I can see where I actually could have a little fun with it with some very confusing menus that go in a large circle.
Priorities change and now this is on a back burner and soon will likely get pushed off the stove...
I think I knew that IP-IP calls no longer touch the 3300 after setup. There is a very nice PDF document showing exactly how different types of calls work. I just need to find it amongst all the other very nice PDF documents and make a shortcut to it. I was actually looking at it a week or so ago...
Tommy, since you ask I have about 700 work days but who's counting?
I have been involved in the multiplexing side of telecom since about that time. Successfully transitioned to the T1 world shortly after. Can set up a telephone from said mux and occasionally connected one to a 1A key system to...
Since the day one roll out of our 3300MXe we have been experiencing loud crackling noises on calls. At first it was reported on external calls so naturally the problem was said to be TDM trunks. Soon ater the problem was identified on in house calls some on the same VLAN. Today and yesterday I...
I am a little hazy about the terminology. By calling number id I think I mean ANI. The number sent from the LEC on the incoming trunk.
I have looked through the help files and find nothing about incoming blocking.
I would like to be able to either block a certain incoming number or send it to...
An update just FYI. One of the remote 3300s had two T1s for network. About 3Mb, thats the way routers with T1 interfaces spell it out, 1.5Mb per port. Anyway, we got our IT peeps to dedicate one of the T1s to voip traffic, putting admin LAN, video etc on the other T1. At that point the modem...
I am not sure about length limitations in posts here, so I am making the answer a separate post. Plus I don't want to clutter up the original issue with explanations of our internal communications system.
This is not your typical 3-400 user office system. That is part of it and it was...
Thanks for all the replies. We are looking in to the compression issue. The main ICP (MCD, 3300, can I call it a PBX?) was designed and set up so faxes work. Not so sure about the other cluster 3300s or the IP connections to them. It has been a long road from planning to roll out.
MoIP, LOL...
We have a cluster! A cluster of seven 3300 MXe III ICPs with ASU IIs attached. We have lot's of modems we call at remote locations.
Everything was working good in the "interim" configuration where the analog lines to one 3300s ASUs were routed on a T1 trunk to the existing PBX and existing OPX...
Thanks for the inputs. Please bear with me as Mitel schools were a year ago October and some stuff is a little hazy. We finally started putting the Mitel on line in the summer and are still moving stuff from the old system. I set up the emergency call notification months ago and don't have...
