Your still trying to do the imposible. You need the DE84 .lod files. Not the .fdf.
We exchanged several E-mails about this weeks ago. I thought you were just going to sell the equipment ?
bill@bltserv.
Its more than just firmware.
Its Mode Pages too.
And Voltage. CX drives are 12V only.
Dont even think about trying to take a generic
to a Clariion CX.
Suggest shopping for some used drives.
They are available for resonable $$.
73`s & 146`s.
Get the SPS attached and the performance will
pick up 15-20%. They are available reconditioned
with the cables for about $ 200.00. Over-riding it
by getting the status to the SP SPS connection may be
more trouble than its worth.
If you have it RAIDed up correctly.
At the FLCI prompt use the...

PN005046734=ST173404FCV
PN005047169=ST373405FCV
PN005048173=ST373307FCV
All drives include the handle/carrier
and are 520 Byte w/ Clariion f/w.
I have been down this road before.

520 Byte Clariion
1. Make sure it has the correct Clariion firmware
S/B 7A0x for a 146GB Seagate
2. You can use SCSI Toolbox. Demo available.
to reset block size to 520. Then do the re-format
3. Mode page 19 needs some changes or the drive
will have a LIP. Log in Primative issue.

.fdf files load only on drives that
are of the proper EMC family.
Drive must be online and bound.
And only via the native system.
So a Symmetrix drive D010 cannot be flashed on a
Clariion system and vice a versa.
That ST3146807FCV with D010 is not the correct F/W
for Clariion or CX. D010 is a Symmetrix DMX drive.
They are not interchangable.
Correct CX/Clariion firmware is 7A04 or higher.
The firmware file is impossible to get out of EMC.
If you find it. It will have a .lod file extension.
fdf. download...
Dan
I have a good deal of experience with this gear.
Have seen Hitachi drives with R570 F/W in CX arrays.
But never in a 4700. My compatibility list does not show the
drive as approved. So no F/W available.
Sounds to me like some one populated a DAE for JBOD use
Are they at 512 or 520 byte ?
I...
Hi
This may help you.
1. Dell and EMC drive sleds are different
