System is equipped with a combo card for VCMs
Trouble is when they log in. They have dial tone
and make or receive a call. After that no dial tone
and can't talk after answering a ringing call.

Just did this for a customer with two door phones and two door locks. They need to tell which door was calling. I used two Viking C-1000B and two W-1000 door phones. Connected the two C-1000B to two trunk ports, door phones connect to the C-1000B controllers, locks connect to the controller...

But I'm not having the issue with the nortel sets.
The trouble only seems to happen when an IP set receives a call
from outside or from another IP set on the system.
Any thoughts?

1 phone 2 w/PRI
1 DS16A expansion module
When the IP sets receive an incoming call from internal ip set or external calls the caller hears a 1 second burst of static.
We just upgraded to 8.0.42 and the ip sets are at 3.103S firmware.

I set up the short code. When I answer an incoming call I press tranfer and dial #278 press complete. The voicemail thinks the caller is the user and asks for extension number and password.

I have a new IPO w/8.0.18 and M series phones. I can't find anywhere
that says how to transfer a caller directly to someones mailbox. I know on the 14xx series you would press the message button plus the extension number and the call goes.

Pressing # instead of their extension number works great.

I have a customer with an IPO 8.0 and doesn't want to use visual mail and doesn't want to dial *17 + extension number + password.
Can I set a short code that automatically puts the caller’s extension in, and they just enter their password?

I have an IPO 8.0, the customer is looking for the caller id of a second call to come across the display while they are on the first call. Is this possible? And where do look to set it up?

No luck, I added incoming call route for extension 209.
Called extension 209 and still ended up at extension 213.
Also the change added a pause before 213 started to ring?
