    Rounded button suggestion

Can anyone recommend a rounded rectangle button component to use? What I want to do is to display a set of buttons on a panel displaying a background image. I want to be able to load an image for each button and then have a caption appear on top. I have found components which do this but they...

    StackHash problem on Vista

Thx Glenn I think I know what is causing it - I use a third party protection component and if I don't protect the software there is no error. I will shortly have a Vista install to test with. It just shows how little Vista is used in some environments that this has never cropped up before...

    StackHash problem on Vista

I have a customer who reports an error when my app closes down. It seems to be related to Vista, as I have a colleague who has tried in on Vista and seen the same problem. All our current customers have been using XP, so this is new to me. Can anyone suggest what might be causing such an error...

    Fading out a wav?

Thx for the reply. I haven't found a wav player yet with a volume control, and I was trying to avoid changing the system volume, although this might be the best thing as a last resort. Does anyone know of a component with volume control just for that Wav?

    Fading out a wav?

My application is a game where I want to play some background music while a sequence is displayed. Ideally I want to fade out the music at the end of the sequence but I don't know how long the sequence will be. All the wav player components just start and stop the sound. Is there a component (or...

    Network Drives and TStShellTreeView

Thx for the code Roo. I had a look but found it quite hard to work out how to convert it for my own use. Your explanations though made me look into how I might be able to read the target of a link, so I did a general search on 'delphi read shortcut' and this popped out...

    Network Drives and TStShellTreeView

I am using the component to allow the user to save a file in a location of their chosing, and it feels perfectly reasonable to expect them to be able to select a shared location on the network. I get the impression that the only answer is not to use a shell component, although what I use in...

    Network Drives and TStShellTreeView

ExpandUNCFilename just returns the same thing - the link in c:\documents and settings... I haven't tried all the others but I bet they are no different :-(

    Network Drives and TStShellTreeView

Thx Roo. I think I understand what you are saying but I'm not sure if it helps me :-) As I'm using a standard shell tree view component I can't stop users selecting drives like this, hence my original question as to how to convert one form of path to another. Do you have a suggestion as to how I...

    e is the drive name.

    Network Drives and TStShellTreeView

Thx for the reply. I tried using ExtractFilePath but it removes the drive designation (e) on the end, presumably as it thinks this is the file name. I also tried hard coding the path to 'c:\documents and settings\Username\NetHood\e' and this didn't work either.

    Network Drives and TStShellTreeView

I'm using a TStShellTreeView from Shellshock in D6 to let the user select a folder to load a file from. This works fine except when the user selects a folder directly under 'My Network Places'. The reason it goes wrong is that the path returned is c:\documents and settings\Username\NetHood\e on...
