Auto-Setup of Outlook Clients not populating server name

Exchange 2003 all SPS and patches. Outlook clients 07 and some 2010. We recently changed our email domain from @onename to @anothername. This part is working. All mail flows in and out with the new name as the primary. The one issue we are seeing is that Outlook will no longer automatically...

Deleting Mailbox does not reduce the size of the store

2003 Domain with Exchange 2003 Sp2. Enterprise. Multiple stores with the same behavior being seen on all stores. We are deleting mailboxes and Mail with many gigs worth of data in them but the size of the information store's are not going down. To experiment I have removed the options to...

    Multiple VLANs at remote site

I plan on reconfigureing the router tomorrow with the sub-interfaces. Looking closer there are some configs for EIGRP on the remote router. The existing config looks like this. interface FastEthernet0/0 ip address 12.255.0.6 255.255.255.252 ip summary-address eigrp 1 12.32.0.0 255.224.0.0 5...

    Multiple VLANs at remote site

Thanks for the Config example VinceWhirlwind. Viperegg, as always your advice is tremendously appreciated. I will schedule an evening outage to take a crack at setting this up. Both sites are fully functional now so I will be taking them offline for a bit to put in this config. Any...

    Multiple VLANs at remote site

Further research is indicating that a sub interface on the router is the way to go. My question now is, do I have to remove the config on the physical interface and create a sub-interface for the existing management (native) Vlan as well? The router physical interface of fa 0/1 is the port that...

    Multiple VLANs at remote site

Thanks for the reply vipergg. The uplink port on the switch is trunked but the fa0/1 interface on the router that it connects to is not. So I trunk the router physical interface and then create the vlan of choice on the router along with ip helpers to get DHCP info to the client? Would I then...

    Multiple VLANs at remote site

I have several remote sites set up in identical fashion. Each remote site has a 2950 switch with one vlan (1) connected to a 2801 router that in turn uses Metro E to connect back to our main facility. The addressing scheme at the remote site is in turn set up on the core network and the remote...

Setting up RPC over HTTP/S on Exchange 2003 single server

Thanks for the support on this thread. The RPC over HTTPS feature is now working. The trick seems to be appending msstd: in front of the principle name. Thanks Gary

Setting up RPC over HTTP/S on Exchange 2003 single server

I believe that it is a public cert. Its from Equifax. We just generated the request from the exchange server and emailed in the request. That would be a public cert right??? The cert portion is very important to me since my next project is to set up mobile device access. I will test the...

Setting up RPC over HTTP/S on Exchange 2003 single server

Zelandakh Yes, we generated a request from the server and had a cert created. This cert is installed on the server. OWA seems to work fine and we do force https. Inspecting the cert says that it is good for another year and shows the cert is issued to mail.mydomain.com with mydomain being my...

Setting up RPC over HTTP/S on Exchange 2003 single server

Outlook /rpcdiag shows that it now connects over https. Does this mean that it is working? I am testing from inside the network. There are two ways I can get past the repeated authentication box. I have discoverd this since posting. 1) Untick the box next to "Only Connect to proxy servers...

Setting up RPC over HTTP/S on Exchange 2003 single server

We are running dual ASA's. It’s interesting that you suggest changing from NTLM to basic. All the articles recommended using basic in the outlook profile so this is how it was set. I did try to reverse and use NTLM but get the same logon box. It’s still unable to authenticate me. But the...

Cant receive mail from outside after server reboot

Telneting from the outside brings up a blank screen with a blinking cursor. Tenetting from the inside brings up a successfull response. Not sure what to do from here. Its just odd that it works for two years and after a reboot these problems start. Any other next steps? Thanks Gary

Cant receive mail from outside after server reboot

Hello, Not sure what when wrong. We have had a good working exchange 2003 server on Windows server 2003. Latest SPs on server and exchange. It’s been well for a couple of years but the hardware is old and becoming problematic. I added a second server with the intention of replacing the...

Relay mail requests from srvr1 to srvr2

After reading the posts and the link on front end server scenarios it appears that the best solution is to implement a front end server. This will allow backend servers to be added and subtracted a little easier. It would also achieve what I am trying to do. Would you not agree? I would just...
