    TMR Backup Problem

Oh and BTW, as you may have seen this site is not used much and I just happen to check it today for probably the first time in a month or more. For faster responses, check out IBM Devworks Forums http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/forums/tivoli_forums.jspa IBM Tivoli Techical Mailing list...

    TMR Backup Problem

How big is your environment (managednodes and tmrs)? What OS? Do you also run the wchkdb to verify there is nothing wrong? The lingering processes almost sound like hung/open admin desktops. This would be normal to be run as tmersrvd. Also use the tmstat and odstat to look at the processes...

    Creating Windows local user account

    1) I would have posted all the code but it is not mine so I was only posting the particular section that was failing. The "on error resume next" is declared at the beginning of the script 2) I actually did not think it would do anything, but I was just echoing out after every line 3) The...

    Creating Windows local user account

Makes sense :) I tried that and it prints out a blank with either a valid or invalid password. This is annoying. Martin Carnegie GulfBreeze Software - http://www.gulfsoft.com GulfBreeze Blog - http://www.gulfsoft.com/blog

    Creating Windows local user account

I get a message about a compilation error: expected end of statement. The line and column point to the space between SetPassword and strPassword WScript.Echo objNewUser.SetPassword(here)strPassword I guess it does not like that spacing :) Thanks for the help BTW. Martin Carnegie GulfBreeze...

    Creating Windows local user account

I added the line WScript.Echo "Password: " & Hex(Err.Number) after the password and commented out the line 3 again and it reports as 8007007B which is the same as after the setinfo. If I remove the comment, it comes back as D for the return. I have no idea why that line is making a...

    Creating Windows local user account

Hi all, I have a piece of code that is being used to add an account to Windows 2003. The code works fine, but if a password is used that does not meet the password requirements, it reports success when it actually failed. I have tried to build some error checking into the code which is working...

shell script for verifying endpoints/gateways IP addresses

No problem. BTW, if you are looking for more Tivoli help, probably the better place is to subscribe to the TME 10 mailing list at http://www-306.ibm.com/software/sysmgmt/products/support/TME10.html or use the Developer works forum at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/forums/tivoli_forums.jsp...

shell script for verifying endpoints/gateways IP addresses

What you could do is use the command "wep ls -i label,address,last_login_time" to provide the endpoint labels, the last recorded ip address and the last time the endpoint logged in. This is a query to the endpoint manager and should be fairly accurate (but not 100%). Martin Carnegie GulfBreeze...

shell script for verifying endpoints/gateways IP addresses

What is it you are looking to verify? Is it to ping the ip address that wep ls states to verify that the endpoint is at that address? Martin Carnegie GulfBreeze Software - http://www.gulfsoft.com GulfBreeze Blog - http://www.gulfsoft.com/blog

    Finding endpoints that exist

There is no way for Tivoli to do anything (directly) to a target that is not managed. Probably the best thing to do is revisit your endpoint policy scripts and figure out a better way to manage the duplicate logins. Tivoli provisioning manager

Well that depends on if you want to try to work through the problem or just want to get it up and running. What is really weird is that deployment engine started and nothing else did. I usually have it the other way around. There are quite a few logs that you can look through. If you go to...

    Tivoli provisioning manager

Not sure how I missed your post until now. Did you get this problem solved? One thing I am not sure of is if you can install to anything but the C drive. I thought I remember reading that at some point in time, but maybe this was in the beta. It is really weird that the deployment engine was...

    TCM vs. TPM

Well there is a command line interface. It is done by using the SOAP called which in turn execute the workflows. Not exactly the same, but in some ways way more could be done. Currently it is reported that it can scale to about 130,000 endpoints. They are working on more as there is one...

    Tivoli provisioning manager

Verify that the deployment engine is started. Use the command: $TIO_HOME/tools/tioStatus.sh <was user> <was user pass> This is usually the problem. It is simplest to restart TPM. You can also use the run-deploymentengine.sh in the same directory to start the deployment engine itself. Martin...

    Tivoli provisioning manager

inventory scan in power save mode

Well you are up to date (well FP04 did just come out) so I would think that you should be getting the info correctly. It has been a while since I dealt with this issue. I just checked the SQL for the database creation in FP03 and there is a MAX_SPEED and CURRENT_SPEED in the PROCESSOR table...

inventory scan in power save mode

Well I am sure that this has been addressed in some fix, but maybe something else came up. What version of TCM and FW are you on? Check out http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1IY71880&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en Martin Carnegie GulfBreeze Software - http://www.gulfsoft.com...
